Er, can we get back to the Singapore Grand Prix?

I looked at the 10-day weather forecast and there is rain predicted for the entire week including Sunday. But from my experience there it tends to rain in the afternnon and early evening and it may well have stopped by the time the race starts under the lights. Could be a wettish track though....

That would make for a very interesting Grand Prix.

Of course, we've never had a wet Singapore race. It has often been said (mainly by the drivers) that the reflected floodlights would make it dangerous. Without ever having seen the circuit wet, it's hard to gauge, but surely such a risk would've been discussed, and acted-upon accordingly?

I live in a neighbouring country...and the weather is pretty much the same. Heavy rains fall in late afternoons/evenings so at most I think we'd have a wet track to start on. And even this is a small possibility as it isn't exactly rainy season right now.

Interesting point and one I never thought of. Is there a possibility of reflected light causing problems? I would have thought that once the rain stopped the water would quickly evaporate.

I'm not sure whether I'll be able to watch this race or not but....Lewis please win it ,or for me,it's one of my wishes for that day

Don't forget your pool pick then, there's a teensy weensy part of me that wishes you'd forget to place the picks but I wouldn't be able to live with myself so this is the only reminder you'll get.

I don't think the racing there has ever been at all bad.

So it's apparently might rain for Sunday

Hmmm, where have I heard that before....I am sure I heard both Italian and Belgium Grand Prix were going to have 60% chance of rain during the race. Will we be lied to again?

It rains most days this time of year in Singapore, but it usually happens in the afternoon or late afternoon and clears up by race time. Still, a bit of wet might spice things up a bit.
