I thought Bottas was highly rated.

Maybe Massa will find himself in the Ferrari C team next year to coach Bianchi

Not particularly sorry to see Massa go tbh... he was never the same after that fateful day in Budapest back in 2009...

Shame. I'd have like to see Raikkonen and Massa as team mates again but at least he's out of Ferrari and can try and find a seat with a team that doesn't treat him like crap and actually supports him.

Again? Seriously? How much more support could Ferrari have offered him than contract extensions?
If that's being treated like crap, I'm sure there are all sorts of drivers willing to sign on the dotted line!!

So now, I have to choose either Fernando or Kimi....I am a Ferrari person

No you don't have to choose!! Support the team first and foremost!!
WHEN there is a clear MATHEMATICAL advantage to supporting one,
then Ferrar will make that decision! At which point, we get to choose
who goes first in the 1-2 finishes!! :D

There are no 15 million dollar contracts at Lotus. He'd show more mettle if he did what he said he'd do which is not drive for another F1 team after Ferrari than to go the Barrichello route. He can at least say with dignity he was more decisive than the scuderia.

Interesting that you mention Barrichello... Maybe Williams would want him? Neither of their drivers are doing too great... but then the car isn't any good either...

I think Williams would be a good move for Massa. A team with a lot of history.

I doubt Massa will be able to go to a team where he can win races, so he'll have to look at what else he can bring to the table. It seems like Sauber would be a good move as well.

Sign him for a couple of years, if his little bum gets handed to him on a platter by his new team mate, give him the option to retire gracefully.

And thus bringing it back full circle. Back where he started. :)

Massa hasnt been the same since his accident. Not his fault just life I suppose.

As a Ferrari fan, I'd like to thank Massa for 8 years, he has always put the team first!

I think with the new regulations coming in it's the right time for a change - Ferrari will need 2 drivers who are capable of consistent podiums to fight for the WCC in the future.

Now from what I understand, Massa has stated before that he would not go back to a lesser team.

Surely there are very few teams better than the Ferrari, and none that would take him...?

So the way I see it, he has two options:

a) Forget he ever made such a comment and go to Sauber/FI/McLaren(?).
b) Retire.

Do people think he is getting dangerously close to being a Barrichello, at the end of his career, and taking up a valuable F1 seat, or do people think he still has more to give a team...?

No, because Barrichello was able to get a few wins in his post Ferrari carreer. I don't think the opportunity is there for Massa unless he goes to a McLaren or some team that gets it just right with the 2014 regulations.
