So now the news is out in the open. Felipe Massa, on Instagram, has declared he is not going to drive for Ferrari for 2014.

"From 2014 i will no longer be driving for Ferrari. I would like to thank the team for all the victories and incredible moments experienced together. Thank you also to my wife and all of my family, to my fans and all my Sponsors. From each one of you I have always received a great support! Right now I want to push as hard as possible with Ferrari for the remaining 7 races. For next year, I want to find a team that can give me a competitive car to win many more races and challenge for the Championship which remains my greatest objective! Thank you all. Felipe"

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

So with that said, Kimi Raikkonen is basically confirmed to partner Fernando Alonso for Ferrari next year

Shame. I'd have like to see Raikkonen and Massa as team mates again but at least he's out of Ferrari and can try and find a seat with a team that doesn't treat him like crap and actually supports him.

At least he'd have been in a team where he's allowed to race.

About time....
His peak was a long time ago. Granted the 2009 accident was not his fault, and he showed balls to come back from that, I' ll give him that...

Unfortunately he hasn't been close enough to his teammate both in terms of speed and points, to say he is a front runner.sure Fernando gets the teams attention, but Felipe's equipment is every bit as equal.

I believe Ferrari 'allowed' Felipe to announce his departure, as a gesture, than announce their new signing from underneath him. I believe that he would be a good fit at Lotus with his experience. The less pressured atmosphere away from Ferrari, and equal driver status will help him mentally no doubt. We may well see him flourish, but I think we've seen the best of him.....

There are no 15 million dollar contracts at Lotus. He'd show more mettle if he did what he said he'd do which is not drive for another F1 team after Ferrari than to go the Barrichello route. He can at least say with dignity he was more decisive than the scuderia.

Finally! No offense to the guy, it's his time to go in my opinion. I like ferrari and I think this is the right choice. I was kinda hoping the seat would go to hulk tho. However, raikkonen plus alonso will be TITANIC

Interesting that you mention Barrichello... Maybe Williams would want him? Neither of their drivers are doing too great... but then the car isn't any good either...
