So, with this virtually confirmed, what do we think? I for one am loving this deal, as sky sports news + Ant Davidson suggesting its partly Ferrari showing Alonso whos the daddy, I cant wait to see how this works out next year, if they make a good car it will be an amazing duel , one that I think Alonso will win over a season but I hope Kimi does, will be close im sure and great to watch regardless, as-well as the possibility of Ferrari trying to tell Kimi to let Fernando past + Where will Massa be if anywhere?

There's a reason why RBR (and other teams - no need to single them out for no reason) employ a no. 1 and no. 2 driver structure if they want to win championships.

If it happens, it will be the best combo since the Prost/Senna days at McLaren. The problem is that at present the Ferrari F1 car - though a lot better than what is generally made out - does not have the overwhelming dominance of the McLaren Honda of 1988 & 1989. Raikkonen & Alonso will have a very good chance of getting the WCC for the team but by taking points off each other will make the WDC more difficult for both of them.

On an individual basis the two drivers that could benefit most from that Ferrari team are Vettel and Hamilton, assuming their teams provide them with competitive cars.

It will be interesting if Raikkonen consistently out-qualifies Alonso on the grid.

Personally I don't think Kimi will cope, or be able to get the results Alonso will.

Kimi will soon be No.2.

That's my forecast for next season.

I hope Kimi gets the upper hand......but I'm not sure he will. If he does, Alonso will do damage to Ferrari, so I hope they're prepared! I've heard mentioned that it will be the strongest pairing on the grid, I don't think so, because of the potential for Alonso to cause havoc, I still think Mercedes has the strongest pairing, all things considered. Oh boy, I can't wait to watch this! Red Bull? A boring foregone conclusion!

Qualifying hasn't been Kimi's strong suit, he's known as a pace driver and it's a fact that he was regularly out qualified by Massa, and we've seen how Massa has fared in qualifying against Alonso.

My conclusion was completely the opposite of yours unless we're bringing in the EJ factor once again in this one.

Didn't feel like typing it all over again, so I lifted it from another thread. Alonso will see no challenge to his numero uno status. Ferrari may get a bigger haul of points and consequently not struggle as much in the WCC battles that are really where the money is doled out.

Can't wait for the Tifosi to join in the discussion fun!

How exactly does it show Red Bull up? It's impossible to make such a daft claim until next season is well underway. Could be Ferrari that are showing themselves up.

This chosen one is total and utter bovine manure! Try checking Ricciardo's background and you'll see he is RBR's next up and coming driver, much like Vettel was so guess who'll be "the chosen one" (as you put it but didn't Ron Dennis have a chosen one?) once Vettel moves on - Ricciardo!

Of course he would have done. But how far that challenge would have got him is a different matter. No matter how much people chortle with their hate-orientated hypothesis, it will remain guesswork.
