How is that mean?

Well to say that its sad to think GH was related to him. Ok, DH might not have been as great a driver as GH, but thats not exactly a nice thing to say...?

It's one thing asking for a team order if it's for the championship or if a driver just desperately want to win but to threaten to ditch the car is truly pathetic. And my memory is perfectly clear on events. Ok he'd didn't expressly say it but the very thinly veiled threat is very obvious. Other drivers had made overtakes in worse conditions that day and come out of it unscathed.

There were five laps to go when the Safety Car disappeared. Ralf was weaving every which way in Damon’s mirrors. Damon came on the radio and said he was pushing as hard as he dared in order to stay on the road and give Jordan its first win.

He said it was up to the team to call the shots. He was very calm and very measured but the implication was very clear. He was effectively saying, ‘Call Ralf off. Don’t force me to do something stupid and risk everything.’

thats fine, you and EJ can see it how you like. But my opinion differs, based on the footage in front of me.

On the same track but on a different note, I often noticed that DH in his F1 days was defensive or occasionally even reluctant to talk about his father. Why is that?

But I thought EJ was a God to you people and his word was sacrosanct!

If you can't see Hill's thinly veiled threat you must surely be blind! Even EJ say it and he's an idiot!

Is English your first language andrew? The guy just said that it will be a big risk if they race in those conditions and that was indeed a fact. When did he claim to 'ditch the car' if they are allowed to race?

Teammates who are 1-2 CAN screw it all up, your precious Vettel and his teammate managed it to perfection and that was in bone dry conditions. Damon was not going to give up the win easy and a risk of collision was high. You're either LYING to mislead others or just didn't understand his pretty direct radio message.

"you people"....? What do you mean by that?

Again, just because someone has written it in a book, doesn't mean I have to agree with it?

I heard the same statement both EJ and you have heard, and disagree with your opinion on it.

Why do we need to go further with it? For someone always moaning about getting picked on for his opinions you sure do dish it out.

The only Damon Hill win I saw in F1 (since I was following since 1998) was the one he won in a very wet race, I think he was leading a Jordan 1-2. In Spa if I'm not mistaken. That was a fantastic drive in a race I enjoyed immensely.

That was fantastic! Jordan's first win, and a one /two at that! Some people point to team orders to keep Ralph Schumacher back, but that was near the end of the race and Eddie was protecting his first win. It was pouting with rain and an overtake attempt would have been stupid. Also Damon lost a huge lead he'd built up behind a safety car.

The 1998 Belgian Grand Prix is one of those legendary races that no-one will ever be allowed to forget, and rightly so!

That's the race where Hill was on the radio telling the team to tell Ralf Schumacher (who was a lot faster than him) to back off and not overtake or he'd deliberately ditch the car. So the team order came froma pathetic threat from some has-been/never-was. It's sad to think an amazing driver like Graham Hill is related to that. :(

So you didn't read my post then? You missed the bit about Damon losing his HUGE advantage due to a safety car? He was a lot faster than Ralph, thats why he'd built up that big lead. And you missed the bit about preserving the first win and a one/two? Don't go into team management!!
