Nikon wrote : ou publicly said you're Ferrari warrior, and I publicly replied that for me, definition of ANY supporter-warrior is a person who’s supporting team on the battlefield (warrior/battlefield. got it?), not with remote in front of telly.

So from my point of view, your claim of being Ferrari warrior is fake. As it would be for me to claim I’m McLaren warrior because, hey, back in 2000 I was playing F1 video game as McLaren driver.

Speaking of temperatures, I’m 40, not in particularly good shape (too much time behind keyboard), yet I’ve spent 6 weeks last June and July in Prague, Budapest and Belgrade, walking around both cities at 40+C with big camera backpack full of weight… not the most pleasant temperature, mind you, but bearable with good hat, sun spray and plenty of water. Keeping in mind that air temperatures here in NZ rarely go over 25C, I presume I’m much less accustomed to 40C than you are…

… which takes me back to the point: real warrior wouldn’t mind a bit of sweating, and would “fight” for the team on the “battlefield”, specially considering that was the only race of the season on your turf, so you don’t have to pay for transport or hotel. Everything else, the way I see it, is FAKE.

Nikon, Nikon, Nikon it is like I almost have to tell you everything about myself. Like the reason why I would suffer to sit 2 hours in that heat plus the rest (when the race isn't happening). Lets make it brief as I don't want to tell the whole world everything. In the past I have been ill. Lets leave it at that. And as to your last comment about being at the GP not minding the sweat, I managed to survive it on the Saturday because I was there in the heat anyway. :). I just didn't go on the Sunday. By the way was Belgrade any good when you visted it? *LOL*

If you say so...

Yeah, Belgrade was nice place to see, specially if you know someone there. Of all places in that neighborhood, I'm finding it most cosmopolitan. And Kalemegdan (old Roman/Turkish/Hapsburg fortress) is great place to see any time of the year. However, Prague was pinnacle of my last year's trip. Magnificent place.

But since Budapest is the only one hosting F1 race, that is probably the one to talk about in this forum anyway...

Who won in malaysia?

Kimi I hear?

And get used to it :)

But then you could counter that and say "who is leading the championship?"

All such discussion is pretty irrelevant to me anyway after two races. I'd say give it five races and then we'll get a clearer view. Ferarri seem to be ahead at the moment judging by the pace in Malaysia but we've seen how quickly things can change.

And I as well can counter that by saying that this time last season McLaren was leading both championships but Ferrari who had the better car prevailed after the last race as champion. And that is what is likely to happen since Ferrari has the fastest and better car again this season. So like Snugs said, get used to it. :D

Ferrari did not have the better car last season and they only won because Mclaren screwed up. I am sure they have learnt from their mistakes and will end 2008 with at least one of the two titles.

Neither car is better than the other as we have already seen. It's going to be like last season, where certain tracks favour the Ferrari more than the McLaren, whilst others are more suited to the McLaren. Also, in terms of reliability, Ferrari have 2 (possibly 3) DNFs due to reliability, not to mention those involving their engines in other cars. But what they don't have in reliability at the moment is made up for by the fact that over a longer run, they are slightly faster. Still, if last year is anything to go on, there are a few tracks that will favour McLaren soon. So I reckon that the championship will be pretty even right through, with BMW eating into the points constantly.

I'll be tempted to scratch out my eyes with a paper clip if I read much more of this...

Haha.

Seriously, though, wherever I go I see the same things. It's all either McLaren or Ferrari propaganda, or else I see the "ZOMG Hamilton is the best driver in the world, who else did so well in their first year in F1?!"

You won't believe how many times I've had to explain to them that Hamilton is not the only person ever to have come close to winning. Half of them say that Jacques Villeneuve was crap compared to Lewis. And this is the man who came second in the WDC in his first year, then won it the second...
