No. My gay ( guy) friends are like me. Great to take shopping with, easy to be around and get on the same wavelength with. And they tell you honestly which clothes look best on you instead of glazing over and mumbling something they think will suffice.

I'd offer this as a suggestion...it won't work if the women involved is actually fat.

' c'mon, nothing could make you look fat ( insert woman's name). I'm just not sure that's the style I like best on you. I love to see you in( insert a style of dress she looks stunning in)

This is true. But the style of the dress could be reprecated in a more generous size......perhaps?

No. I didn't mean he should suggest she wear the stunning dress in the wardrobe, just that he recalls it ( when asked the 'does my bum look big in this ' question.) then he could go with her in search of a similar one......to the more expensive dress shops of course, the clothes there always fit better and look better. Job done, big bum forgotten.

Thinking back to the friend I mentioned. If I did ask him the bum question, or just if the dress looked good ( and it didn't) he'd probably start giggling and say something like ...' Hmmm, I've seen better on you' , then he'd suggest the good shops to go look in. And there'd probably be a bottle of wine somewhere along the way to make the trying on and choosing more chilled.
