Seems to be more of a diss on Mark rather than a compliment to Mercedes, but maybe that's just me.

All you need to know about their relationship can be garnered from watching Mark's most recent TG appearance.

You would have thought a chilled Aussie and a generally likeable German would get on as teammates. I wonder what the obvious conflict is about. Can't just be because Mark is getting his arse handed to him by a younger driver. Seb politicking like Button? Nah he doesn't need to kiss arse within the team as he has the talent. What's Seb (not Marko) done to Mark as it seems a little one sided

I think the problem is that Mark is just not a good enough driver. I mean, the same thing can happen at Ferrari but it doesn't happen. Alonso and Massa seems to have a good relationship. Perhaps because Massa has no aspirations of beating Alonso the way Mark has of beating Vettel?

But is that the team or one of the drivers that causes that situation? Or a combination of all 3?

I think it's a combination of the three, but like any three legged stool, it can't stand on its own if one of the parties puts a stop to it. Honestly it's something that I don't foresee happening at Mercedes.

Leg 1, Lewis and Nico have a history and friendship that goes back many a year.
Leg 2, Ross Brawn has balls and the team will do as he says as long as he's the boss.
Leg 3, Mercedes is focused and committed on only one thing at the moment and that is moving the "team" forward, whatever it takes.

That may change but for now, I think the dynamics there are certainly better than in other teams. And light years beyond a team like Red Bull. But then again look who's knocking on the door of a quad double.

What was Marks and Sebs relationship like half way through their 1st season together?

I was sort of hinting that the relationship deteriorated over time between Mark and Seb. It is still early days at Merc

Yeah, I imagine if Lewis and Nico were battling it out for a championship and crashed into each other a couple times, that could sour the relationship pretty easily.

Lewis knows how to overtake without crashing.

If the rules were in place during the Massa tangles that are in place now...and the Maldonado one if you're referring to Monaco, which says you cannot turn in on an overtaking car, then There would not have been crashes . The overtaken car bears some responsibility to avoid a collision, ie don't use the overtaking car as a third brake pedal, know when to concede.

When the big boys go head to head they do it correctly ......most of the time.

Watching the Belgian GP, I felt that Vettel's domination in the race could not be attributed to the car alone. Sure, the RB9's set-up was ideal but so was that of Alonso's Ferrari judging by how easily the Spaniard passed rest of the field. Moreover, Webber in a similar RB9 struggled and ultimately failed to catch the Mercs of Rosberg and Hamilton.

No matter how those who don't like him try to phrase it, Vettel is a great driver with tremendous overall talent. He also seems to have the knack of making the best use of the car and conditions to finish well even when he has not won a race. That is the reason he is a triple WDC and hopefully will soon be a quadruple one.
