If Hamilton ever returns to McLaren, I hope both Whitmarsh and Michael are no longer there.

If both Whitmarsh and Michael are still at Mclaren in a few years, they wont be needing drivers, more about looking for someone to buy the team before the liquidator

I don't believe Perez deserved a penalty today, Grosjean messed up under braking. I think without that Perez would have scored good points. Button drove well today. I cannot BELIEVE Sam Michael not supporting Perez over that incident. Poor show!!!

Definetely arguable about the penalty and RBR for example would have protested and argued for their driver. But these muppets dont seem to learn much at as team. Also, Button only drove as you would expect from the most experienced driver on the grid. Kept out of trouble and drove within the cars limits
This should be assumed by the team and they should not spend a minute praising Button but instead backing Sergio and developing his confidence and progress

Perez did force Grosjean of the track, I think he failed to make the corner because of being forced onto the curbs. So can't complain much about the penalty.

It seems with more straights and less corners, we get to see the McLarens strengths a lot more, since there's not as much 'driving' to do from Button. Monza should be another good race for them, since Button won't have to work so hard in the car there either.

Today's stewarding was once again inconsistent and heavy handed. The bumping off track incidents bet Ver and Hul were worse and not a peep was said there. Then a stop and go for Maldonado? Why bother his race was already ruined, let's give him a meaningless penalty. The guy should have had a ten grid drop imposed in Monza instead.

Remember Petrov did that to Rosberg in 2010 which allowed Schumi to get past and a penalty was not given.

This was exactly what I said to my dad. :hehe: stupidass penalty, I bet Maldonado was smiling since he got a nice break midrace.

McLaren didn't have as poor weekend as we've come to expect. Well, with regards to Jenson Button anyway. Button has been brilliant all weekend (he often excels at Spa).

As for Perez... man, the guy needs to cool it. Once again, he's cost the team points.

Button was actually LEADING the race at one point!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the officiating at today's IndyCar race.

The FiA and inconsistent stewardship are inextricably linked, you can not have one without the other...

But I think they did make the right decision with Perez, he did push Grosjean off the track, which is a clear breach of the rules.

On McLaren, there looks like there maybe light at the end of the tunnel, the Mclaren cars looked reasonably competitive today, both drivers were gaining positions on merit!

So why haven't they signed Buttons contract ? Very odd.

Mclaren is still no where. Spa is like I billiard table wrt other tracks. Mclaren have said the problem this year is it foes not like the change of ride height on bumps.

The car has improved a lot. The tyres have helped but the car is not a dog by any means. It may be hard to extract the best out of it by the current drivers but its not the dog it was looking earlier.

Also they brought back the turning vanes and other stuff they had at the start of the season but then dumped as it was in the way of accessing the suspension setup. They must have a strong handle on the car to have done that.

And the car didnt look bad or slow in Hungary or Spa. Its probably helped them stopping all the experimenting and update gambles. Seems more consistent now.
