If you look at the Perez incident Grosjean does not even have both wheels over the white line, he's still technically on the track so Prerz has still given him room.

But doesn't the regs state he has to give him "a cars width" and not just "room"?

Yep. By the letter of the law it was a penalty - but with common sense maybe a reprimand may have been fairer. Also I agree about Hulk and Vergne, but to be fair they shoved each other so that was 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

Personally its the rules that are the problem. Its a silly rule but the stewards cant be blamed for that!

Don't worry it's bound that the next race steward will interpret things entirely differently, so we'll be okay.

No wonder I can't understand some of the rules/regulations... they're written on quicksand!! :banghead:

yep. Perez was screwed over, and Sam Michael supported the screw over. Whitmarsh did say there was a ganging up by some of the drivers on Perez...and I think he's right, but he failed to add that Sam Michael was part of the gang. Unbelievable!

I usually don't believe in superstitions but that black cat of F1 starts getting on my nerves.(Williams, McLaren, who's next?)
Things are messed up within the team, Martin is too ''soft'' and Ron is always absent...

It's a mess. Michael and Whitmarsh contradicted each other over the Perez incident publicly, what else is out of harmony?Don't know what's going on in that team but the writing was on the wall for a year or two before this season. I hope they sort it, I really do, but I don't think there's a quick fix. Some major changes and rethinks needed.

So, bitter as it may be, you also have to admit that, say Lewis' pitstop had run into a problem, and it took an extra 3 seconds and hence Lewis was behind Nico for the last few laps, then we would have seen the places swapped

Perhaps. I'm not sure

You said Nico was a smart team player. You also must agree that Brawn knows how to win things. 3 points extra for Lewis or 3 points extra for Nico towards the aim of winning a WDC? What do you think Nico and Brawn would prefer

Come on, you can do it, as painful as it will be, take a deep breath and repeat after me, 'It would be pointless and look amateurish not to swap places had this scenario unfolded at the last race'

You know you want to, just do it man! :hehe:

I don't know, can't see places being swapped like that to be honest.

When the team themselves said this is just a foundation year and they are not aiming for any championships this year, how do they justify to Nico having to move way? Pretty tough don't you think.
#371075
Because Lewis has a chance and Nic doesn't. And Nico will be assured that the same would happen if next year he was the one with a chance. Looking back at Brawns modus operandi both drivers will already have been briefed on the teams aims for the remainder of the season and I am sure it won't be for Nico to gain a few points on Lewis when those same points are more potent with Lewis
#371077
Do you think Lewis has a chance? They weren't thinking much of it even after the Hungary win, and after looking at Redbull's pace in Spa with a 50 points cushion, it's almost done don't you think. Personally I'd be very surprised if Nico has to make way for Lewis at any point in the future.

Lewis is out of this year IMHO, unless he starts clean sweeping which won't happen. Merc were for too long playing catchup, this year is pretty much Vettel's.

Next year however. Oh how I can't wait for the 2014 season to start; it's gonna be mad!

I want at least 5 drivers all fighting for the championship at the end of the year, then a 'whoever wins rain soaked Brazil final race wins the championship', with turbos this could be rather an epic era!

Sorry but 2014 - 2017 is booked for Mercedes and Lewis/Nico to paint silver all over it. :D
