He attended Roland Ratzenberger's funeral. The only big F1 name to bother their backside to do so.

I didn't know this! That Max was F1's only big name there? If so, that's a pretty p!ss poor show.

They all went to Senna's. More photo opportunities there.

Max did nothing, he fed of others.

Incorrect. As much as I dislike the man, he put huge effort into making the sport much safer than it was previously and that's not something that can be denied.

It has been said that the safety aspect was the only area he could exercise power over the teams and force them to do what he wanted under the guise of 'health and safety'

yes the result was safer F1, but that is the mandate for any head of the FIA post the dark ages of Balestre oncve Jackie Stewart and others had actually changed the mentality towards the importance of safety.

It has been said that Max was not there for the benefit of anybody except himself and Bernie who maneuvered him into the position. For example the amount of money the FIA lost out on as a result of Max overturning previous agreements of Ballestre actually hindered implementation of a lot of safety directives

Its like saying a dictator, despite killing a bunch of people 'made the trains run on time'

That's a very unfair allegation, to suggest they use the funeral of a colleague for a photo opportunity. Ratsenberger was in his first season, less known to the drivers and personel in F1. The drivers will have gone head to head with Senna and known him for years, risked their lives alongside him.

I believe Gerhard Berger went to Ratsenbergers funeral.

You've clearly missed the sarcasim. Point is, it's still a death and an unnessesary loss, no more and no less tragic than any other.
