Glock had no grip on slick tyres, though it looked quite dry,it wasn't,this years Le Mans there was alot of drizzle and short showers during the race despite the fact that the track looked dry, cars were sliding off left right and centre,Unfortunately this Le Mans was overshadowed by a driver passing away in slippery conditions on slick tyres in a massive accident against the steel barriers,it was an very expierenced GT driver(Allan Simonsen),showing how slippery conditions can be,particularly on kerbs, anyway in F1 they had to switch in Intermediates, and GT cars genarally produce my tyre temperature,so F1 it is quite treacherous, like Spa 2010 and the sudden shower at Nurburgring, even F1 cars which produce loads of downforce,it is still tricky to drive in the damp.Glock would certainly struggle in those conditions,as most of field switched to inters, showing that conditions were tough and Glock understandably stuggled on dry tyres in those conditions.

One of the first things I learnt about F1 and its fans is the unlimited creativity/ability to rationalize why their favourite team/driver did not win a specific race or the title/s in a specific year.

Having said that, it's difficult not to join in, so...
Kimi won the WDC because the Ferrari was a great car, when you could get the tires up to temperature, and because he never gave up even when well behind in the championship.

:clap::clap::clap:

and...
...Kimi won because something mysterious happened at Mclaren that prevented either driver winning the WDC in the year they were punished by exclusion from the WCC.

At the risk of offending Hamilton fans, there are those who will argue that he won his WDC "'because something mysterious happened"" to Timo Glock on that last lap of that last race... :thedoor:

Yeah, he had the wrong tyres on :hehe:

There was no mystery on the last lap. The rain came down, the front runners pitted and finished in same relative positions. If Glock had also pitted he would have ended up behind, he didnt pit and therefore was 'out of position'

The only hint of mystery is how the Mclaren pitwall worked out it was better to cover the other front runners instead of gamble stupidly like Glocks

Whatever happened, the F1 Gods have not looked kindly upon Timo Glock.

Make of that what you will but some say the F1 Gods have unspeakable powers and unparalleled abilities to see the truth even through the most convincing lies and the deepest conspiracies.

That's probably why Max got his comeuppance then. He screwed unfairly with Ron and his screwing with whores was his undoing. Divine retribution.

He didn't screw unfairly with Ron Dennis.

Ron Dennis was a class one a-hole with an attitude problem who thought he was bigger than F1.

What he did in his private life is of no consequence whatsoever. It's as bad as the narrow minded idiots that accuse him of being a Nazi just because of who his father was. Sheer nonsence. His comeuppance was for attempting to ruin F1 in general but Ron Dennis/McLaren were not treated unfairly in the least.

No. He was photographed in nazi gear. And what he does in his private life is absolutely fine...so long as he isn't preaching about bringing the sport he represents into disrepute, charging 100 mil to someone he deems has done that, then goes right ahead and does it a whole lot worse. Hypocrite!!

You have the wrong guy when you say Ron thought he was bigger than F1, that was Max. At least Ron did something, he built a race winning team. Max did nothing, he fed of others.

So what if he was photographed in Nazi gear? As I said it is of no consequnce what he does in his private life. What McLaren did was a clear cut and blatant case of cheating. It was 100% correct that they were punished and that a team (any team) guilty of such actions is given a severe punishment. It was extreme but it was clearly aimed at being as much a deterent as it was a punishment.

Mosley being photographed in a Nazi uniform getting his bottom spanked by some top end slags does not bring F1 (or any of the other motorsports he oversees) into disrepute. it brought himself into disrepute. But I'll add, what Mosely did in his private life didn't break any laws or anything like that. It was just a guy getting his jollies out of something that he enjoys. So what? Good luck to him. McLaren clearly breeched the sporting reg's and were punished accordingly no matter how you twist things to suit.

Incorrect. As much as I dislike the man, he put huge effort into making the sport much safer than it was previously and that's not something that can be denied.

Yes, he improved safety. Beyond that, he was a hypocrite who used his position to peruse a personal vendetta against a man who was more successful than him in his chosen field, and more galling to Mosely, it was a self made man who bettered him.

He attended Roland Ratzenberger's funeral. The only big F1 name to bother their backside to do so.

I didn't know this! That Max was F1's only big name there? If so, that's a pretty p!ss poor show.
