Webber made an assumption, there was no guarantee Alonso knew he was there or knew he wouldnt back off. Infact no diferent from a move Lewis tried on Mark himself at Singapore a couple of years ago, that resluted in Webber (a driver with Alonsos experience) 'failing to see him' and shutting the door on him.
