So Kimi is not running with the bulls, what do you guys think was the downfall to the negotiations? Sponsorship commitments? Money? Perceived value? Vettle veto? I'd love to have been a fly on the wall there.

The risk of two egos like that in one team? Or they found someone better?

Ricciardo is all but confirmed, officially to be confirmed at Spa it seems. He isn't someone better, just another driver who can suffer KERS issues and be a thorn in the backside of other drivers while Vettel does more winning. Redbull is pretty much the new Ferrari, although 1 which thinks they are actually a racing team and lie to themselves.

Kimi Raikkonen's manager, Steve Robertson, insists his driver still has multiple options for next year despite ruling him out of a drive at Red Bull.

Daniel Ricciardo looks set to secure the vacant seat at Red Bull in 2014 after Robertson confirmed contract talks between Raikkonen and the world champions had ended. But Roberston said that did not automatically mean his driver would be staying at Lotus next year.

"We are pretty confident that Kimi will be in F1 next year," he told Autosport. "There are options - and that is plural - out there and I will continue to talk to teams. I am hopeful we will sort something out in the not too distant future."

Rumours have surfaced linking Raikkonen to a return to his old team Ferrari, but the Italian team recently said it is "not giving any thought to the driver-market situation". Lotus is still confident of retaining Raikkonen but the team has made late payments to its driver since he returned to the sport in 2012 and the Finn is likely to be seeking assurances over the team's financial footing.

Haha cool story Robertson.

I'm sure he has multiple options, where at, Force India, Caterham, Williams, McLaren? Redbull is out, Ferrari is now the only viable option and if Kimi goes there, he is basically ready to be the new b!tch of Maranello (providing he's replacing Massa) and collect all the $$$ to his hearts content.

I'm surprised to not see Red Bull as an option,I really thought he could go there...I don't really think he'd go to Williams or Caterham though.

I very much doubt that Vettel vetoed Raikonen.

Not that it matters, but "GP Update" is reporting that Helmut Marko is saying there will be no driver announcement at Spa.

He's better off staying at Lotus than going to the Scuderia. Cos we all know he's got one hell of an ego. And the number 2 at Ferrari can't possibly have an ego. :whip:

He didnt have much of an ego when Massa handed him his arse in 2008

I'm sure it's since been rebuilt.

He clearly couldn't give a sh!t so I very much doubt his ego suffered at all.

Kimi has 2 choices

He can stay at Lotus where he is not getting paid
Or he can get paid at Ferrari and we can expect fireworks to explode between Alonso and Kimi...

Or he could go back to rallying :hehe:

Kimi Raikkonen has called in sick for Thursday's media sessions at the Belgian Grand Prix but Lotus says he will be at Spa-Francorchamps for Friday's practice day.

Raikkonen is currently at the centre of speculation about his future after his manager said talks with Red Bull had broken down over the summer break. Thursdays at grands prix weekends give the media the opportunity to talk to all the drivers, but Lotus confirmed in the morning that he would not be taking part in his usual media call in the afternoon.

"Thursday's media call cancelled due to illness; he will be here tomorrow (Friday)," read a short note on the media information board at Spa.

Raikkonen called in sick during one of his test days during pre-season this year and missed the media day at last season's Brazilian Grand Prix.
