Lewis can win 7 races with Nico second plus Seb can win 2 races with Lewis second and Lewis wins

Ofcourse the other drivers will have a say in this as will dnfs, but when you consider Seb had a string of wins last year, then with the fastest quali car and the fastest quali teammate, its all in Lewis' hands, all he has to do is qualify first and win from there for half the races left (with Nico right behind)

There is ofcourse more risk of incidents for Seb if he starts on row 2 half the time

And all this coordinated talk from Merc about 2014 and not 2013 doenst fool anyone. Why would they all be saying this when they have sandbagged all season and they have a strong chance once the others start to shift resources?

Ah gotcha, I thought one of your posts read differently. Seb can win 2 races but lewis has to be second in those 2 races and win the rest?

If Mercedes don't get both of their cars in the top five the next two races, I think it won't matter because both Championship will be beyond reach.

We're seeing it now, Lewis is as good a benchmark as any....since he doesn't have tailor made tyres, a Ferrari team which bows down to his every beck and call, and a lapdog teammate to boot.

Low fuel. And a stunning result for Mercedes that needed protecting. Neither driver liked it , but both knew it would have been the same had Rosberg been leading . Up until that final stint the drivers were at liberty to race.

I don't think it's too much to ask. They're friends and they respect each other. Neither wants favours and neither resorts to skulduggery to gain advantage.

Could you point out this race please? I don't recall anything like that, except Malaysia where Lewis was going for a podium and Brawn told both drivers to just bring the car home...

Especially considering that Rosberg did overtake Hamilton TWICE only to be re-overtaken and then the call comes in telling both guys to stop risking the result. There's no "Oh look Nico, you're our No.1B driver but still No.1!! You're still important, but I don't want any FRONT running....find a guy and block him from our No.1A, tq". Totally different kettle of fish.
