I was there for the inaugural race! LOVED every second of it!

Truth be told, I did not have a ticket ahead of the race; but, showed up hoping for the best!
"Found" accommodations just minutes from the train station and then headed down to watch
the race. Luckily, after being approached by a couple of people selling tickets, I noticed a
young family, who was from Brazil. They had tickets that belonged to a friends of theirs who
were not able to come due to some sort of family emergency.

I found myself sitting amongst a group of McLaren fans, could barely see the track, was very
thankful that I could almost make out the screen almost across from me. There wasn't any shade,
so I burnt (probably because in my excitement I forgot the sunscreen). Prices for beverages, etc
were ridiculously high. BUT, I had the time of my life, at my first GP!!

As for Valencia, it's an absolutely beautiful spot on this great big Earth! The people, sites, food,
shopping and entertainment are very definitely worthy of consideration as trip destination!!

I don't think that Valencia could hold a GP physically anymore, from a article linked from this forum some time ago, the track and pit complex has fallen into disrepair since it last held a GP!

Valencia will not hold another grand prix.

The calendar is getting pretty awesome, A1 Ring is back and this piece of crap is out!!!

Next kick the Barcelona GP out and bring back Turkey and we have pretty much a perfect calendar.

Yes, I recall reading that elsewhere quite a while ago.

Now if only they'd drop Monte carlo, Austin, Singapore and Silverstone, turn Istanbul Park into real-estate and bring back Imola Estoril, Magny Cours and the original Hockenheim we may end up with a pretty decent calander.

I say you just boycott Monaco andrew, don't attend.

Even if I could afford it I wouldn't waste my hard earned cash.

Spa would be more my style. Go to a real circuit and watch a decent race and not a procession at some featureless piece of tarmac.

I always thought it was a bad idea when those anti Hamilton fans were throwing bottles on the track

They're not anti Hamilton, they were pro Alonso. :hehe:

You should do that then. Start saving now for next year.

This is good news.

It's tragic that both of the currently-used F1 circuits in Spain are both utterly terrible, as the grandstands are nearly always packed (such a transformation from the early 2000s!).

Barcelona is one of the worst circuits on the calendar, and the races are nearly always terribly dull. I say get rid of that one too, and host the Spanish GP elsewhere!

 Agree! Valencia gone. BRILLIANT !! Now lets dump Barecelona and get a decent track for Spain!
