Based on his qualifying results and race points, Rosberg has improved massively !

Although I'm not an expert, it seems obvious that any driver has to depend on his team to give him a good car!
Mercedes has "improved massively" (especially since their time at Barcelona), so it stands to reason that both
Rosberg and Hamilton are better able to show their talents!!

Very true Sagi. I also think Rosberg has been underestimated quite a bit. Now he's really being tested and he's standing up well.

Agreed, personally I am rating Nico's performance slightly higher than He Who Is Too Great To Name™s this year, it's been pretty solid and fast, although he does seem to be a bit lacklustre in the latter part of this half, wasn't really too stellar in Hungary and Germany; possibly struggling (a tiny but, nothing significant) on these new tyres?

no disrespect to Nico, but how do you rationalize his performance as being better? would really like to know. He won in Monaco, but his Silverstone victory was mana from heaven twofold! He's behind on points, he's behind on poles and behind on qualifying by a much bigger margin so his only advantage is being a two race winner rather than one. an unbiased third party would say they're at least even, but I know bias is far from scarce round these parts.

Mercedes have the most complete driver pairing at the moment.

As fast as each other, the reason Nico has been in slower cars compared to Lewis would be that Lewis is just that much grittier and hungrier. Would Nico carve through the field like Lewis' trademark drives, or would he be less hungry? Also he goes missing in races often, pointing to trhe same thing

People who are surprised by how fast he is just have to try thinking of him as part Finnish and not German, and suddenly its no surprise

Top guy, and if he beats Lewis he deserves it though I cannot see this once things settle. However he already proves he is better than Lewis' teammates bar Alonso, but theres lots of time left

excerpts from an earlier post on this thread. I think we are seeing the difference between the 2 race by race.

When Nico got pole and won races this season, it tends to be when things are very good with the car or he inherited due to bad luck elsewhere. With Lewis how can anyone compare his results which have come from good and bad situations?

Nico has not made good of a bad situation yet, wheres Lewis has recovered from a puncture to extract maximum. Opinions are one thing but blinding bias is not productive

Not over rated. He is the real deal. however to be top ranked he has to take that talent and speed and churn out results no matter what the car or situation is. He will learn this from Lewis and become more and more formidable over next year or so

No, but there was my 'Thoughts on Rosberg' thread, which I started several years ago and has been revisited multiple times since (last time only a couple of months ago), which in effect had many many forum users giving.... well.... their opinions on Nico Rosberg.... perhaps you should merge with this to prevent people going back and posting on it too?
