Trust me, once you get older, out of school and all, you'll appreciate having received a comprehensive education, rather than just getting trained in the special fields that interest you right now.

i know, but......loads of things like latin and philosophy suck, and you know, when you doesn't like a thing, you don't study it so pleasantly!!!

Latin is kinda cool though, even if it doesn't have that many uses....
For english, it can be good because you can work out (in a general way) what words might mean because they have latin roots.


Agree with you on philosophy though. Never quite got that point of arguing about whether the sheep was white, white on one side and black on the other side, or just a figment or my imagination.

Yeah, Latin is cool. E.g., English is nothing else than a Germanic language with lots of Latin (from the French) mixed in, thus knowing both, German and Latin makes my life much easier
There are some REALLY cool philosophies - it's just the matter of finding the ones you like. Keywords: Sartre, Kant, Nietzsche, Marx, Plato, Epicurus, Feuerbach, the surrealism movement, Bakunin and many more.

Maybe I just didn't study it long enough to get a proper grip on it (we only did a term). It all just seemed a bit too pedantic and a bit too nit-picky for my liking. I did try reading Sophie's World (?) which absolutely everyone seems to rave about but I never finished it....maybe I should try re-reading it at some point.

up to now i'm studying hegel and the romanticism, not difficult in comparison with kant, but the only one i like was socrate, i don't know if it's the same name in english...
