Joining a forum mid-season is not the best situation, but I figure joining during the summer break before the Belgian GP (best track in F1, in my opinion) will give me a chance to get a "feel" for things here. Too early for predictions, but I'll be cheering for Kimi. :coffee:

If you're a fan of Kimi, it should be a smooth transition...no need for hard hats. No one dislikes Kimi here. Welcome! :wavey:

I hate opera.

I suppose you ride one of those carbon-fibre pieces stamped out (or should I say laid up) in Taiwan. I prefer something with a little character ... steel, hand made in Italy. :coffee:

 now we're talking. Nothing sexier than a vintage Cinelli brazed butt.

Mine is a PInarello Opera, with full Durace. I knew the distributor here in Canada, so I was able to custom order the frame back in 2001. Antonio picked it up in Treviso then built it to my specs, when he returned to Toronto. I should probably swap it for one of the new carbon classics (bad back) like the Rokh, or even a Domane or Synapse, but so far I just don't have the heart to part with it. 8-)

Shame on you, I'm disgusted...

Don't! I used to have a old Benotto frame, Columbus tubing that I put together back in the 80's when I used to ride. Full Campagnolo Record and Super Record. I sold it and still regret it to this day. Would have meant more to me today even if just as a piece of art.

Nothing wrong with carbon fiber BTW... F1 cars aren't made of steel for a reason, but the artistry in frame making is a thing of the past.

But just so we're somewhat on topic, what's closer to Spa, Liege or Bastogne?

Not much difference in distance to Spa, but Liege is about 10km closer depending on the route you take.

Btw I do see the advantages of carbon (the Pina has carbon at both ends), but it lacks the artistry and feel of steel. Having a 14lb. bike is not so important, when you are no longer racing. Would be nice though.

It's like you guys expect Mercedes to do well or something. :hehe:

Oh come on....it's SPA. Enough reason to get excited much earlier.

And yeah...hopes are currently high for certain team(s)
