Interesting how we're supposed to forget what other teams do/fail to do; yet,
others just don't let the past stay in the past, where Ferrari is concerned, eh?

Maybe there is some truth to the rumours that the Ferrari 2014 turbos are already rife with issues and is way behind the performance curve

It always worried me that the new donk was a turbo because Ferrari just don't make turbos. It seemed obvious to me that they would start a long way behind the other teams with the new engine format.

Can't be all that bad if there are also rumors they're taking the engine to the LMP1 class.

Could be that the fuel limits and various restrictions are not so tough in LMP1 though

It's one of the rules of F1 support. Didn't you get the memo?

Lmp1 engines... looks like a way around any f1 testing restrictions. Drop the engine into an lmp1 car and put a million miles on it.

Cockpit and wheels would have to be covered.

Also they would have to divert a lot of resources to win. And i am sure not even Montezemolo would relish the prospect of getting beaten in both F1 and LMP1 at the same time

Ferrari vs Porsche in LMP, bring it on, I know who I'd back

Ferrari in LMP1 - how many Tifosi have dreamed of that! But I just don't see it.

I think CookinFlat6 has made a couple of really good point and I think we may struggle a bit next year. Ferrari definitely had the best training facilities, somewhat like Man U have the best facilities in the EPL. It was deemed best for F1 that we had to give up using the training facilities we built up.

If there is restlessness from Fernando perhaps next years engine may be part of the reason.

I hope that's not the case. With the technology and the prep time, I'm thinking that each engine manufacturer will be able to come to the table with the full horsepower and the only difference in engines will be reliability (at least to begin with) and the driveability meaning getting the torque down early and keeping strong all the way through the revs. I'm thinking we're bound to see more issues with the energy recovery portion of things than with the turbo and engine. Fuel consumption will also be critical.

Well... Charlie Whitting said he thought it was OK, he even emailed them saying so!
I guess Ferrari could always miss next year's YDT, if it turns out Whitting is wrong, eh?? :wavey:

Charlie Whiting and the FiA lawyer both have to be wrong. Now Charlie maybe will screw up again but not the shark. Poor Mercedes having been dealt such an injustice because of a mistake they didnt make.

Mercedes seems none the worse for the "punishment"!
In fact, they are definitely better off having won 3 out of the 5 races since!! :wavey:
