David Coulthard scores the teams out of ten at the halfway point of the year. Also writes about a second half of the season with four world champions poised to battle out the second half of the year.

His score for Lotus doesn't make sense....when you relate them to his comments. Same score as Mercedes? But the rest I can agree with.

That's the Coulthard I know, biased! Sorry but Red Bull have not been 10/10 this season (how many reliability issues have they had this season already?) - the same way that Lotus have not been that superior to Ferrari. Ferrari had arguably the quickest race car until Pirelli started messing about with the tyres - but Ferrari failed to capitalise on that in Malaysia and Bahrain.

You expect bias when Red Bull sends him a paycheck every week.

I didn't see it coming (sarcasm alert!!)!! 8-)

Coulthatd has shown bias in his commentating quite a lot. I thought he'd got a bit better, maybe not.

No matter what problems Redbull has, DC's point that their consistency in keeping themselves at the front for the 4th year is indeed stunning for a drinks team. Heavyweights like McLaren and Ferrari just look 2nd class in comparison...like it or not, everyone already has just an 'outside chance' of winning either trophy this season. We're half distance and Redbull seems to almost have it wrapped up. That justifies a 10/10 for me. Plus if they're sending me a fat paycheck every week, you can excuse any 'bias' in my writing. :D

Of course he shouldn't bite the hand that feeds him!! HOWEVER, anyone reading his comments that
doesn't know he's on Red Bull's payroll can be excused for believing what he posts as an "expert"!

So yes, Coulthard is biased in the position he is in. However, that doesn't affect the score given. How can you argue with a 10/10? Look at their dominant position in the WDC. Look at how high Vettel has started and finished each race, minus Silverstone. Sure, you can say they've had reliability problems, but their still #1 in both championships. Having KERS go out on two cars and still finishing #3 and #4 speaks volumes about how good the drivers, team, and car is. It pains me to say these things as I hate Red Bull and wish anyone to beat them, but some of you guys really have to learn some objectivity.

I thought his scores were pretty fair to be honest, and I enjoyed his little blurb at the beginning ( my comment about his bias in the past was referring to his commentating)

They are mainly dominant because others have messed up. No team deserves 10/10 this or last season. RBR in 2011 maybe deserved 10/10, but no-one does this season. How Ferrari can be 2 points behind Mercedes and Lotus aswell is ridiculous (oh wait, Coulthard's being biased). I personally would rate the top 4:

Red Bull - 8/10
Mercedes - 7/10
Ferrari - 7/10
Lotus - 7/10

No team has done that well this season, other teams have just had issues. Ferrari didnt take advantage when they had the best car, Lotus have had Grosjean failing to score and can't qualify well while Mercedes spent the first 5 races ripping their tyres to shreds in the races.

Also the fact that Pirelli took conservative tyres to Silverstone and Nurburgring, and the new harder tyres they brought to Hungary have significantly helped RBR/ Mercedes, and hindered Ferrari/ Lotus. Its no coincidence that since Pirelli started messing with the tyres, Ferrari have dropped off the pace while RBR and Mercedes have suddenly lost their high wear rate!

So if anything Merc should score lower because they've only improved because of Pirelli changing the compound? In actuality their car is horrible on tyres.

Well all I can say is DC is tonnes less biased than you are. Mercedes and Ferrari the same score? When Ferrari were challenging for the WDC last year, Mercedes were trying to stay 5th in the WCC....and look at the two of them this year. Please...Ferrari deserves a 5 at most and that's only because we have McLaren who are a complete train wreck which has helped make Ferrari look better than they are this season. Starting the season of as the fastest car and now talking about 'tyres not suiting us', well Mercedes were a joke in Spain and now with new tyres with 0km testing they won a GP. Tyre this tyre that, it's no excuse.

DC's scores are almost perfect...except for Lotus which I don't believe is fair to be on par with Mercedes, since Grosjean hasn't been pulling his weight while at Mercedes both drivers have been operating on full cylinders. AND yes, Redbull deserves a 10/10 even though I don't care for them either.

That's where the saying comes from, "ignorance is bliss" :cloud9:

Sure, but you can't use it as a defence in a court of law!! :nono:
