I suspect some of it was down to Nico being too aggressive in the race, close behind other cars, on top of the pre race trouble he had on the grid all in the hottest race

At least let's hope the causes are known as Merc have been solid on the engine front generally

Alright, time for me to post my thoughts on the race

Hamilton deserved the win, no questions asked. Hamilton was on fine form through the entire race and didn't miss a beat during the race. A great win for him today and one he has had coming for a long time

Vettel needs to stop bitching about having no room. Where the f*** was Kimi supposed to go? Vettel is just being like this because he couldn't win today so boo-hoo.

There was no point in Grosjean's penalty

Oh yeah, one last message

Hey <EDITED WB> people with disdain for Hamilton who said Hamilton would fail to be dominant in Mercedes

:hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe: WHERE ARE THOSE CYNICS NOW?

On the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 site.
Nico was unfortunate to get tangled up with Massa on the first lap and then suffered an engine failure, which was a little worrying in the closing laps as we hadn't seen any signs of overheating.

Most of them left the forum. :hehe:

Btw it wasn't just about Hamilton. The cynics were talking about Mercedes being a hopeless team which will start the season strong and then fall by the wayside after 4-5 races due to a bad development team.

From what we have seen so far this season, they probably have a team as strong as Redbull if not stronger. I have a feeling they came to Hungary for 'damage limitation' since they had no idea what these tyres would do. From now on though, with a good load of data to work with and a fine looking car in the race...watch out World.

I didn't post that; but, I feel safe in asking, if one race win makes a driver dominant,
what does three WDCs in a row make a driver? :D
#367356
Yeah it was pointed out to the cynics that people were what counted in F1 plus money and that Merc had quietly assembled a dream team.

Yet it was always the same retort, Merc always go backwards, no team can make up that deficit, the status quo meant Merc would always fail with McLaren and RBR always ahead because of the past

And Lewis had been driven out of a top team and was doomed

It's all quiet on the Western front now though and Red Bull are about to get their credit line tested, even before 2014 it seems

but I didn't do the best job either. I damaged my front wing, I got stuck behind Jenson, didn't find a way past unlike Lewis so yeah, there are things that I could have done better but it's hard to say where we could have been without those two things.

It's the haters worst nightmare

There's a new sheriff in town, and he is wearing a hoodie

Oh man I'm in total awe of his dominance, he's won an entire one race, can nothing stop this one man machine who lies 4th in the championship?

You are missing the point, it's not one race or one performance, it's the whole package

It's the juggernaut starting to come together after a lot of money and talent have been invested and is now starting to show what a decade of old fashioned German domination of Motorsport will look like

Merc have been around a few years and are on their way to their true place, they dominated even before Ferrari and are back. Cynics need to look at the wider context of today's win to get its significance

Oh well, let 2014 approach :whip:

it is nice to see that Lewis finally got gifted a race, see Button and Lewis are friends after all, If JB had let Vet past it would of all been different.

There are other ways of looking at that.......

Had Button been able to keep Lewis behind him

Or

Had Vettel been able to overtake Button as Lewis did
#367372
Yup, its not like at McLaren where he had one good race then the team forgot to fuel his car the next

He is now in a team where he is happy, the team know what it takes to win, they have money, they make engines, (hell they invented the motorcar as we know it), they have the staff,

most of all, the whole team is happy when Lewis wins!!!!!

Lewis has what Alonso and Seb have, and he has what Shu had when he won 5 WDCs in a row

F1 is about the whole package, and Lewis has arguably the package with the brightest outcome for the next era. Unless of course RBR again ace the new regs like they did in 2009. But I think I will root for Brawn and the Merc power unit in the coming era of engine over aero

just like Lewis

Well I think JB was well out of order crashing into 2 different drivers and risking safety cars affecting Lewis' concentration.

However although he could have defended harder the second time Seb was behind its vaguely possible JB might have maybe slightly had Lewis' back a little

Grojean is an odd one, one minute he is amazing the next he drives like Ide
