Lewis and Merc beat red Bull today because of the superiority of Lewis' racecraft over Sebs full stop.

You really think we had seen the same race if Lewis had a 12kph speed deficiency on the straight?
Nothing to take away from Lewis, who did a fantastic job, but that comment is ridiculous.

12kph speed deficiency on the straight is why Seb could not dispatch Button, and is why he looked scrappy and made mistakes in the race and made contact? And the same 12kph deficiency doesnt give Red Bull car a payoff in the second and third sectors? And overtaking by Lewis was not limited to straights

I suggest you investigate where your backside has gone as crap is not exiting from there

Hamilton overtook on the straights, and in the short sprint to T2.
Have you seen any evidence that the Red Bull was a capable car there?

It's not all bad, Seb can at least take solace in the fact that Hamilton didn't get fast lap, I hope he patted Webber in the back post race.

Two fvcktard decisions on Grosjean by the stewards today, and one of the stewards was Allan McNish?!?!?

I agree that the one for the Button incident is pretty harsh, as it didn't wreck either driver's race and was really just one of those things, though Grosjean was at fault. The move on Massa was, unfortunately, one that they couldn't really let go as he did have all four wheels off the track. I don't know if he'd have been able to see it himself, but the team should certainly have instructed him to give it back, as he'd have been able to pass again anyway - he was way faster. Really big shame, as otherwise his race was fantastic and he could have been up there on the podium.

Theres no way it would be fair to punish Alonso. Ferrari have had issues with the DRS opening for years now

Too true!! BUT, there will be those who insist that both Alonso and Ferrari were trying to gain some kind of advantage!!

Of course, we know that's not true, eh? :wavey:

Is there clear evidence of that? The angle shown on the world feed didn't show it. On the contrary it looked as if he was very much in. Unless there's on car or alternate views. In any case, the argument can be made that Massa needed to give him room which wasn't there, so the alternative was what?

Both racing incidents IMO, and the driver on the outside of the turn is putting his car at risk and taking the longer line. When you punish people for aggressive overtaking (cleanly) the sport suffers.

Alonso must be feeling a bit like Lewis felt at McLaren last year. At least though, his team are not focussing all resources on making Massa faster :hehe:

Are you stating right here and right now that Alonso will be leaving the Scuderia after this season?

They did analyse it on the Sky Pad and when it was slowed down they showed that he was well over the line (the angle of his car would put his rear wheels over it, too). I think it is one of those rules where it perhaps shouldn't be so black and white, but unfortunately at the moment that is what we have.

Fairly entertaining race. I wonder what would've occurred if Seb hadn't been bottled up behind Jenson for so long... but enough with the what-ifs.

Grosjean would score FAR more points if he didn't get caught up in all those incidents, although I really enjoyed his pass on Massa, before the drive-through. Has he done enough to retain a place in F1? I'm not sure...

McLaren actually got both cars in the points. Yay.

Williams actually managed to REGISTER a point. Double yay.

Engine. Man when I saw that flash of silver I was like NO. F*CKING. WAY. And then I saw the yellow gloves...and was like, phewwww. But they lost some points today, hope this was a 1 off thing.

So is that 3 big engine failures across 2 races now? Bianchi, Rosberg and Bottas? Getting a little more like the early 2000s engine-reliability! :hehe:

Not quite... but getting there...

the lines are there so that theres no bitching about the decisions on the track limits! I said at the time he might have to give the place back, f12012 the game would have made you give the place back, i think lotus missed a trick not radioing that to him.

That said, Fia could have just told the team to give the place back, like others have said i dont like seeing great moves being punished, but technically it wasnt a great move because it was an illegal one.

Lewis showed again today why he is better than Vettel, and at LEAST on a par with Alonso, i used to think Lewis had a bit more speed, Alonso was a more complete driver, but Lewis has shown the same stunning consistency as Fernando the last season and a half

I was expecting 3rd at BEST today, 5th-6th more likely, how glad I am Lewis reminded us all why we support him :):cloud9:

Jesus!!! When that engine blew I was in pieces!! Even when it was Rosberg....they'd been asking Lewis to fiddle with switches and Lewis was doing his 'let me drive man' . I had everything crossed and was peeping round the corner at he screen and praying he'd done the fiddling and the engine was ok! AND HE WON!!!!
