Lewis and Merc beat red Bull today because of the superiority of Lewis' racecraft over Sebs full stop.

You really think we had seen the same race if Lewis had a 12kph speed deficiency on the straight?
Nothing to take away from Lewis, who did a fantastic job, but that comment is ridiculous.

Not so ridiculous. If Redbull took that speed away on the straights, he should've made it up at the corners. He didn't...and fell into the traps of Button. He just wasn't fast enough, wasn't aggressive enough (stupid enough to lose a bit of front wing though) and he didn't deserve to win today.

In fact, Webber drove better today than Vettel. Which doesn't happen often.

... Anyway nothing is going to spoil my today!!!! What a way to start the summer F1 break!!

That was definitely NOT my intention, so I will apologize if that's how it came off!!

To be honest, I was happy to see Hamilton win instead of Vettel, even if I would
have preferred it to be Alonso... with Kimi a close second!!

Here's hoping you enjoy the great ending to the first half of the season!! :wavey:

I don't know what race you've been watching, but that is 100% untrue.

I have to say it was fun watching Kimi keep Vettel at bay, the sport is not all about passing although the ability to make a pass was what won Lewis his race today, the ability to maintain his position was what won Kimi his second step on the podium today.

I also have to say that it was a ridiculous decision to give Grosjean a drive through, he drove fantastically today and I believe would have been on the podium himself otherwise.

Good point about Kimi!! Hadn't thought about it that way before; but, you're right!!
Any defensive strategy can be just as important as an offensive one!!

Although the pass was against Massa, I thought it was quite a gutsy move by Grosjean!
Can't believe he was penalized for it, when that's one move that made this a good race!!

Agree about Grosjean but he got the penalty for leaving the track which was wrong...but he still deserved a penalty for making contact with Button and damaging his race a bit.

Button and Grosjean if anything it would have been Buttons' fault as Grosjean has completed the pass before the contact. In my opinion they were both racing incidents, the Massa pass was a complete pooch screw by the officials.

No..he hadn't completed it, even if he did he should've given space to Button.

This was very similar to Hamilton and Kobayashi in Spa (but at a much slower corner) and Hamilton was blamed for not giving the space even though he was ahead.

I'm in agreement with mnmracer... which race were you watching? :hehe:

Watch a replay! They replayed it at least 3 times (And it's impossible for me to be biased to Button :hehe: ) ....Button's left front wheel was on the dirt when they made contact. He can't make his car dissapear so its up to Grosjean to leave the space which he didn't.

Massa said it was wrong to penalize Grosjean after when Grosjean passed him, waiting for verdict on Button and Grosjean

That's true!!

So... my "Dumb Question of the Day" is:
How do the stewards decide which penalties are meted out during the race?
Is it "totally" subjective??

((OK, so that's two questions!! :P ))
