So an Adrian Newey-designed car is a bit delicate. I can't say I'm too surprised. Most of the cars he's designed since he left Williams (where Patrick Head would have kept him honest) have been a bit, well, wimpy.

I think Newey's best days were indeed when he'll have been working with Patrick Head, afterall when Newey first came into the spotlight with March/Leyton House their cars weren't the greatest. Newey's aerodynamics in 1988 put March ahead of the badly-draggy and turbo-lagging cars thanks to the better acceleration from the Judd V8.
