He pays tax because many centuries ago the absolute rule by monarchy was replaced with a system that involved a parliament and elections etc. The monarchy was then reinstated but largely in a ceremonial role. There was no written constitution. Therefore when the Queen started paying tax recently she stopped exploiting a loophole and set the precedent for the royals to be citizens like others.

My point if you had read my original post was that drivers living in Monaco and reducing their tax bill is also a type of exploitation of a type of loophole, perfectly legal. No ones bad for paying as little tax as the law allows - thats the point, that includes Lewis and Prince Charles

Just saying its an irony that halfwits who claim drivers are not been patriotic would likely not level the same charge at Charles

As far as what or who the duchy is according to wiki is irrelevant because legal and tax experts who have probably also read the wiki page are nevertheless about to test it in the same way any other loophole is tackled.

Its like saying the royal family own the armed forces, so Charles didnt need to attend Sandhurst and could just order any battalion to go invade a foreign country to bring him back a takeaway meal

Thats debatable (and only because of the lack of written constitution, Ill bet she tried the monarchy would be abolished withing a week)

Where would F1 be without Bernie? It would of probably died out 30 years ago or it would still be a garagist sport. Like him or hate him he has made the sport we love today what it is.

As for his successor, I do not think it will be one person. I would imagine 2 or 3 people

I agree. I've read in several different articles the name Christian Horner banded about as a replacement. I just don't know if that would work. Is he ruthless enough?

F1 as a global televised event would have happened with or without Bernie. He just happened to be in the best place at the right time with cash to organise it all and more importantly structure it to enable he kept control the whole way. His genius was in keeping control, keeping the teams divided and hence preventing breakaways into rival series.

It could be argued that without Bernie F1 would have turned out better today for teams, circuits, spectators. It could also have turned out worse.

Once he goes F1 will be run like most other global sporting shows, and probably with more transparency and integrity.

But bernies power was born out of the teams wanting a better deal for themselves. I believe at that time Bernie was the man for the job.

People keep having a go at him for this fraud. But how many of these deals go ont the background every day and no ever hears about them.

It is like Lewis going to see him last year crying that he wanted a move to Redbull. Bernie is a puppet master
