I think Bianchi is clealry the one being groomed for a long stay at Ferrari. Felipe might get another year or two then Jules will step in. a year or so after that maybe Vettel to replace Alonso - but that's a long way down the track.

I think Button won't move McLaren, he will just retire.

Ok........

Bianchi is impressing me as a Massa replacement.

I'm a fan of Binachi too, the guy is a long term driver for Ferrari's development, he tested with them almost exclusively since 2010 I believe, not much testing to be fair. He's done well in junior formula too, and ok Max isn't much competition but Binachi is regularly half a second ahead of him.

I just think he's too young and inexperienced for Massa's replacement, I surely hope there is a replacement to Massa though.

Whoever goes to Ferrari will be number 2 to Alonso, but they need to be closer to him than Massa is now in the races (Mass's qualifying performances havent been a problem this season, but he lacks race pace). When Alonso has a bad race/ DNF, the number 2 needs to be quick enough to be on the podium (if the car allows) and take points off Alonso's rivals. Also when Alonso wins, the number 2 needs to be 2nd/3rd to allow Alonso to capitalise on the win;

Irvine and Barrichello did this very well, and Massa in 06/07 also did this well, but since his comeback there has only been a handful of times where Massa has been anywhere near as quick as Alonso in the race, and as a result it means that when Ferrari have a car advantage (as they did in China and Spain) it limits the damage Alonso can do to his rivals.

I saw on twitter the other day a rumour that Alonso is getting fed up with the Ferrari car and has approached Red Bull even for as early as 2014.

That'll be like signing off his remaining 5% chance of winning anymore WDCs in his career. No way Redbull (and GoldenBoy) will give equal treatment to both drivers.

I think Coulthard passed a comment recently on Fernando leaving Ferrari.

The only chink in Red Bull's armor may show up in 2014. Everybody wants to drive there, but Alonso wouldn't come cheap, I don't see what's in it for the team though. It would be a very stirred up grid were it to happen.

Alonso starting to get restless? It was always going to happen, what with the way things have been going.

But RBR's domination won't last for eternity. And every year of it that passes, is another year closer to its end. :twisted:
