Your Monzas, Suzakas and Spa; there's no real option there this time round because we are so aggressive and the cars are so much quicker. [At the Nurburgring] we were one and a half seconds, nearly two second quicker than we were here two years ago and that was with the blown diffuser car, so they're going quick!"

I agree with you the Merc prefers the harder tire. So I think Pirelli changing the planned hard time for a soft tire at Hungary will not suit Merc.

Yeah, which is why I'm counting on track layout helping them dictate the pace. If I'm not mistaken, they had super softs at Monaco too? Can't recall.

If nothing else, I think Pirelli will have the time to bring consistent tires to Hungary as I think a bad set of tires is what did Merc in last race. We'll at least get the rubber to be used for the remainder of the season, hard or soft, we've now got the 2012 compounds with the kevlar construction.

We may get to see another shake of the tree in Hungary.

How awesome would it be if Merc came back even harder in Hungary after the FIA f**king them over with the YDT. While everyone else is busy gathering data, Merc can be putting these 3 weeks to good use, already using the data they acquired during their Pirelli test for development parts. Which is what Wolff's response was in the interview post Germany "While others are testing, we will be spending time doing the thinking". Hope it means what I think it means.
