^^About Alonso's stop. It would be obscene if it was since the added SC laps... So I'm not sure it was fuel, he would have run out of fuel by lap 55 otherwise. That would have been a BIG screw up.

No. He probably had the 1 litre sample in the car and he doesnt have to return to the pits after the race.

Force India have been fined 5,000 euros for the unsafe release at Di Resta's stop. No news on Red Bull but as it was more serious i'm guessing a heavier fine - doubt they'll lose points or be banned!

What do you guys think that should happen to Red Bull following the pit lane accident and what consequences will happen?

The usual punishment for failing to secure a wheel.

I'm surprised that none of the mechanics shoved the camera-man out the way.

2) It basically gave Webber a lap and a half on some of the drivers he beat. If I was Perez or anyone behind him i'd be annoyed as realistically from P19 all he would have caught wouldve been Caterham and Chilton. Not Webbers fault he was given the lap back nor was it his fault his mechanics messed up his stop but I just dont think its fair on the other drivers, especially ones who lost points because of it.

It's part of racing. You can also say that lapped cars can get in the way of people fighting for positions and they'll lose points from that. There are a bunch of things that don't seem 'fair', but overall they more or less balance out.

Not really. It's more than the normal amount for a wheel coming off.

Damn Massa, poor Binachi.

Don't think Binachi will get a punishment, sure, next time he'll stop the car properly and turn the wheels, but if the FIA bother to come knocking he'll just say it was on fire, he was getting out as a matter of emergency. There's probably an FIA guideline for that or something.

Err rest of the race, I hate highlights but I like fire. Not sure why Mercedes' tyres suddenly fell off, but I see more evidence for thinking the championships are Vettel's and Redbull's.

Race was a bit forgettable I think though, Lotus looked fast, both Redbulls made really good starts too.

I think it should be a lot more. Someone now has a broken collar bone and two broken ribs due to their mistake. 1ft higher on that bounce and he could be dead.

I don't know, the risk is always there, I mean, everytime a tyre comes lose in the pitlane, it ended up worse, but the intent was no worse than all the other times.

At anyrate, it's really whoever turned the light to green that needs sanctioning.

I don't think you should turn fines in a lottery.
Your tire knocks someone into the hospital? You lose! One race ban.
Your tire only knocks someone out? Congratulations! Only $5,000 fine.

You can't fine on the luck of the outcome.

I disagree. The backmarkers should stay there, since the leader has already had to lose time passing the backmarker and they also lose all of their lead when the SC comes out, therefore I believe that the other leaders should have to pass the backmarker. Non leaders already get a time gain when the SC comes out, so why should they have the backmarkers moved too - especially when it deprives the watching public 2-3 laps of racing!

I think it's a little harsh, the fine on RBR. If that wheel didn't hit anyone they would have been fined the normal amount (Which is far less if I remember correctly) it's not their fault where that tyre went, pitlanes in races are inherently dangerous.

It is their fault the car was released though.
