How about I just give you 500$ each to stop bashing McLaren and Button.

USD? Ok, will you make the payment today?

I'll give you a pat on the back if I can come into a thread involving MacLaren and Button and you are not bitching in it, You seem to be overly concerned about what Button is being paid. Everyone here knows you don't like him, we get that, now just stop it, stop it :whip:

The continual 'downing' of one driver - Jenson Button is not needed. I only see Lewis Hamilton fans do this, they are like an itch that wont go away. FFS guys, Lewis has moved on, Lewis is doing well, be happy. I really don't see the need to bad mouth MacLaren and Button in every single post you make. Get over it, forget about Button concentrate on the one you love.

Exactly, the amount of unnecessary 'bashing' of McLaren and Button is astonishing; there really is nothing new to report, McLaren have a piss poor car, we all know this and regardless of driving skill, it's hard to score points in a car that is consistently going backwards. Put your energy into supporting your choice of driver instead of bashing other drivers without an real just cause.

I brought this over here since it's the more "on topic" thread.
Why is it that people tend to react only to negative comments about drivers they like? I guess the focus is going to be on Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso, Button because they're champions they're sold with the bill of goods making them better than the rest (insert your reason why they're better than the rest here). So when they under perform, it's expected for them to pick up the mantle they're been accustomed to as a WDC and show the greatness. Kimi seems to be the exception, not sure why.

Personally I can't stand Kimi, he's a solid driver given the right car, with great pace but I don't think he's shown that he can take an under performing car to the podium the way Alonso or Hamilton can but that's neither here nor there. To me Kimi comes off as the biggest prima donna of the WDC lot, not a team guy in the slightest. But you don't hear me bashing the guy on every other posts which is what the issue some have about your post count cookin.

I mean to a great extent the ones that could squelch the bashing most would be McLaren and Button, and having some success but that's not likely this year so the posts will go on and on.

I'm going to go over the the Mercedes threat and bitch about how it's no longer a YDT so they shouldn't be excluded from it.:wink::hehe::whip:

In the same car Sergio has outperformed Button 5 races in a row, and yet is paid a tenth of Buttons wage. Do you think Button is really doing a good job for a cash strapped team?

here is a chance to explain why Button is not a big part of McLarens problem and slide, i.e. a chance to discuss F1 and not other members

Button's paycheck is the least of McLaren's problems.

I've never said Button was doing a good job, I acknowledge that Button is only a great driver when the car suits his needs, I wouldn't say that McLaren were a cash strapped team. I think that many people are to blame for McLaren's slide into relative obscurity, it's unfair to blame any one person, it's a team effort so everyone of them has to shoulder a part of the blame. Personally I think that McLaren went down the wrong development path with the pull-rod suspension, I believe this is the core of their issues, changing tack and then hang your chief engineering guy leave is a recipe for disaster. I can accept that Button isn't the best at helping to develop the car based upon what I hear in interviews and over the pit radio, and to be honest I get the feeling that Button is getting frustrated and fed up, maybe it's time for him to hang up his helmet at the end of the season. I'm not blinkered, I can see what is going on, but the throwaway insults about Button and/or McLaren get tiring!

I agree that the suspension change is a major factor in the poor showing of the car.

Of the 27, Button said it was the worse McLaren car he had been given
He then said he was going to have input into the 28
And looked forward to leading the team

He does not seem to be doing that at the moment, I dont see him galvanising the team and extracting everything out of the car compared to Sergio. He is talking about not leaving because the car is bad, surely he should be saying he is driving the team towards success.

When Lewis turned up at a mid field team he was prepared to work hard even when it was thought he would be scrabbling for points at the back.

According to Autosport Buttons performance at his home GP was rated lowest on the grid, beneath Sergios.

Its like watching a fake magician, and spotting his tricks, week in week out, but asked not to point them out. It was truly shocking how he stopped driving fast on the straight and allowed other drivers past because of a tyre blow out in front of him

I have nothing more to say for now, but if he does something again in the next race then I may comment on that

I feel a certain sadness for Mclaren and Whitmarsh, even though the writing was on the wall and pointed out by quite a few of us even when they had a fast car. The foundations for the slide were there, and Im sorry but Button was part of that.

I don't think Jenson would get the bashing he gets if he didnt talk himself up all the time and make excuses and make profit at his team mates expense. Heikki partnered Lewis, wasn't such a strong driver but didnt get the bashing because he didnt play political games. Rosberg is probably Lewis strongest partner since Alonso and Lewis fans were tipped to start bashing him if he beat Lewis. Well he has done, he's driven fantastic....and no bashing, no negative talk. Because he does his talking in the car.

The nonsense that went on has done Lewis a favour, because he's in a much better place. He's happy, he has a fast car, an improving team and a good and fair team mate. So Lewis fans, we should be happy for that. :)

I find it hard to forgive him though, because his intent was to up himself at Lewis' expense. And I've seen him do it to Checko.

I guess when things happen involving Button, that are reminiscent of the time when Lewis was there, they instigate comment.

Finally, IheartKimi, I realise you like Button, and the negative comments must be galling, as a Lewis fan I have witnessed plenty of those in his time in F1 believe me.......and on this forum. So why not counter them? Why not post some of his positives? We don't see many comments from you at all, only when you're angry at another poster. It would be good if you put the other side and joined in the debate, not just on Button but other topics too. While I'm on that subject, there's an excellent thread you could visit and vote :D see my signature.

If Jenson deserves a bashing then fair enough, as long as it's constructive, I wont defend his driving or part in McLaren's downfall, he is part of the problem, but not the problem.

My issue is with the little unnecessary digs, I realise that Lewis had the same during his 2011 season, which was hardly a highlight of his career, I didn't like people doing it then and I don't like it now, if you have something constructive to say instead of putting the boot in, then I will listen, accept your view and write a counter-argument if I have one, hence discussion!
