Di Resta excluded after his car was found to be 1.5kg underweight
That's a shame man. He will be gutted. Is it only the one FI that's underweight?
From BBC Sport;
Di Resta weighed less than expected on the FIA scales after qualifying but team boss Bob Fernley said that when he was weighed again later he was back to his normal weight.
Governing body the FIA said Di Resta would move to the back of the grid, but he may well be forced to start from the pits.
If the team need to add ballast to the car to make up its weight, that would be a change of set-up, which is not allowed under F1's parc ferme regulations.
Car has to be legal at all times though, I mean, unless Force India want to argue, he lost weight between getting out of the car and going to the scales which counted for the under weighting.
I'm not arguing that. Just saying its a shame.
Yeah, could have easily been different, but its like McLaren's fuel thing last year or a few years ago with Sauber's rear wing (or something), when it comes to a car breaching the technical regulations, there's only one penalty it seems, the car is disqualified from the event.
To be fair, the FIA probably should look at that, although in this case I guess they will argue there shouldn't be leniency, as minimum weight is a safety parameter.
Of course, anything to deny Britain it's happiness...
:FacePalm:
Or maybe I just had a sense of humour bypass.
