in other words just in case Vettel does not cope. I just want Kimi to go far with a lotus car, I like lotus, I hate red bull! To see Kimi go to red bull would be weird, I wouldn't know who to support.

They've won three consecutive doubles with the existing formula. Why go for a Kimi or other high profile "rooster" when all they need is someone of Mark's caliber, an alsoran that can get the occasional win and score consistent top 6 point finishes. Why mess with the formula when someone that can take points away from Vettel would actually hurt them in the WDC race.

On the other hand, the formula will change substantially in 2014. Why not have 2 great drivers in a team in case one has a problem adapting to the new formula?

Kimi is a pace guy, not a taking a bum car to places it doesn't belong guy.

Finally some good news, he was wasting a seat anyway, bring on Kimi

Mark is hardly a waste of a seat, as pointed out previously, the Webber/Vettel partnership has been super successful, Vettel didn't win the constructors title on his own!

Totally agree with that.

I'm really sorry to hear this news, even though I kinda knew his retirement was near, this year or next year.He was one of my favorite personalities in the sport, especially after 2010 season.

I think he took a good part in development of car,I cant remember when but the team was about to try the new or the old exhaust system,Webber said the new one would be better whereas Vettel said the old one would be,and they did what Vettel said and failed at the quali.

I think Ricciardo would be an option but I don't really know, maybe they'd consider Hulkenberg as well.

Long overdue departure. Bring on Ricciardo!

“I'm just a beast! I'm just an animal! And I'm just waiting to be let out of that cage!”

Yeah bring on Ricciardo, he talks like he's just stepped out of the heavyweight championships....I won't be surprised if he caused even more fireworks at Redbull than Webber did.

Intwresting point on how good is Seb at development? !? Could Webber leaving be the begining of the fall of the empire.

Wishful thinking on your part with AN running the show.
Next year though, with all the new regs and specs, anything could happen...

Could the fact that Daniel Ricciardo is Australian, help his chances replacing the outgoing Mark Webber? He just helped his cause massively today with the result in Qulaifying. If he's able to get another solid finish...

I'm not entirely sold on Kimi going over the Red Bull, but we'll have to see how the season continues to pan out.
