Well I think I do get it ....but yes - whatever :)

You misunderstand, mean I don't think you get the point I was trying to make.

I'm getting sick of this. McLaren and Hamilton wronged Alonso, Alonso wronged them. Alonso is not somehow the worse man simply because he was painted that way by the media in their passive aggressive Hamilton love...Err...I mean, F1 coverage.

The fact is, Alonso signed to McLaren as a world champion and went to them as a double world champion. He naturally expected the team to help him win. But instead, Ron installed his golden boy, a brit, as Alonso's team mate. Lewis was always going to get more support from Ron than Fernando thanks to their long relationship and the team as a whole because he's a Brit. McLaren put Alonso in an untenable position.

And Lewis was no angel either. There was a team agreement which he arbitrarily chose to ignore, then subsequently he spat the dummy when Alonso retaliated. In Monaco, he complained that Alonso was perhaps being favoured which placed Ron under pressure from the media to do more for Lewis. Ron was therefore in a bind. Whether Alonso was receiving more support or not, Ron had to shift some of it to Lewis lest he face the Schumi/Barrichello Austria '02 backlash.

But none of it got covered that way. Golden boy was a humble rookie doing surprisingly well (Erk, no, he was in what was marginally the second best car and on its day the best). Alonso was the big bad world champion (Bad? Last year and the year before he was the salt of the earth for defeating Schumi) who was annoyed about how rapid his rookie teammate was (Or, he was annoyed that his rookie team mate had better status in the team than him and there was nothing he could do about it).

Do you see the disconnect between th story in the media and reality?

I dont see your view as reality either
The rub of it was Alonso expected to kick rookie arse and couldnt so he had several tantrums. Lewis expected to spend longer getting up to speed but got there fast and wouldnt defer-quite right alonso should have beaten him on the track. McLaren do not favour either double world champions or prodigiosly talented rookies. You have to win on the track . Alonso couldnt and he couldnt hack that fact.

Whatever. I'm not going argue the point with you because you don't seem to get it.

She doesn't get it mate, don't waste your breath, she's just regurgitating pro British journalism. Good post, you hit the nail on the head with your analysis. The press were looking for a Villain post Schumacher...

she could say that exact same line to you, just because what slant of an occurance you choose as "reality" doesnt make it reality. that would suggest that space and time revolve around you
ultimately unless you are involved within the team and saw the goings on yourself youre only going to be hypothesising and basing things on what you read and theorise. thats not reality mate

You've always got two sides to a story, the truth falls somewhere in the middle.

Sure I'm guilty of sympathising with Alonso because of the media Blitzkreig on his every wrong move and being a Schumacher disciple you don't have to tell me about bad press. My belief on the situation is very similar to Jensonb's, which shows a balanced and reasonable view.

i can now sympathise with MS fans a bit more, being a FA supporter, and in england you constantly hear him getting bad mouthed! as you say, the truth lies in the middle

bud why dont you take your own advice  ? What you said is a very valid point in general  but it is also something that is constantly laid upon everyone and every other team other than McLaren.

The forum as a whole will give you a few minute's to pull your foot out of your mouth because we love you ! Incase you misinterpreted my post, well I know you will, I'll be glad to share more insight with my next post or maybe not.
