Pirelli may sue the FIA
Horse Whisperer: “Don’t tell me that testing for three days on your own at the Catalunya circuit is the same as doing so with nine other teams at Silverstone with a host of young hopefuls at the wheel.”

So he doesn't think Ferrari gained any advantage for testing at The Catalunya track directly before the GP was held there?

How about this, seemings as you clearly think testing in a completely different 2 year old car is the same as testing in your current car, how about Merc turn up at next years pre-season testing and, instead of running their 2014 car, they do all their testing with the W03. :hehe:

Weeeeell, if the one with the two year old car could run their own test and the one with the 2014 car could only be directed by the tyre company, then I might go for the old car. But it will be a different thing in 2014 because a lot changes, it's been stable for the last few years, so the two years doesn't make so much difference.

On the one hand you happily tout that Pirelli ran the Merc test, yet you totally ignore that Ferrari were not even present at the test with the F150. Come now my dear :)

Wait...what do you mean Ferrari weren't there? So only their car was present? Who drove the Ferrari, Hembrey's son or Hembrey himself? No telemetry, no computers open by any Ferrari personnel, just the car?

The car belongs to Corse Clienti, (one of Ferrari's client racing teams - fairly well known team). They ran the tests with Pirelli.

Red Bull and everyone else just need to go do some tire testing(engineering upgrade testing). A joke decision by the FIA.

It always amazes me how far some teams go to win. Especially if they feel their driver is lacking... look at Mclaren in 07 and now Mercedes this year. It always seems to be one of the drivers 1st year with the team as well.

In other words, Ferrari's testing division.

Doesn't quite fit for Mercedes though. They're having the best season since they've gotten back into the sport.

But you do not know how much pressure is coming from the parent company

The decision was by Ross Brawn alone. Wolff and Lauda I don't think had anything to do with it....you could indeed argue that the team bosses so far have gone the extra mile to get their cars working/results (due to the investment spent on new star drivers, engineers, etc), there's some basis as you stated to support that theory. Flavio ordered the crash to get a win in Singapore, McLaren acted dumb with Ferrari documents (which I still find totally not a problem), and now this.

I always think that with crashgate, alonso had a claus in his contract that they had to provide him with a winning car or he would walk.

The parent company does not want a black eye. Do you think Renault would have okayed Briatore's call? It's bad publicity and it's not worth it at any cost for the gain.

Mercedes is making progress, but no one expected them to be a contending team this year, all of the pressure is on the 2014 season.
