But camping in mud is not nice. Give me hot sun on my body any day of the week!

Not quite the sun, but that will do me as long as it stays dry. Looks ok at the moment ;)

By the way, im happy with the location of both DRS Zones, as i'll be able to see both from where i'm sitting (Club Silverstone section of Becketts) :D

I like that grandstand! I'm in village A , so will see a similar section of the track. I think it's a shame having DRS at Wellington because the loop is a place where they can overtake but they don't because they'll just get DRS'd back on the straight, so it kills real overtaking.
That weather doesn't look brill but could be worse. I don't mind it being a bit mixed for the race but want fri and sat eve nice? :)

Ive just noticed that the DRS detection points are pretty far away from the actual DRS zones.....

Yeah, hopefully that'll help.

Help what? In what sense?

So, Vettel to win?
#363664
Yeah, unless there's a mechanical failure, I think Vettel walks away with another one. Lotus is making noise about this being their biggest update of the year, but they looked abysmal in Montreal.

Ferrari were very strong at Barcelona, which is a similar track to Silverstone (fast, long corners), and Alonso had the pace to challenge Vettel in Montreal, he just couldnt show it as he was recovering from a poor qualifying.

Webber is always strong at Silverstone too, so dont count him out either!
#363758
The track looks like a cracked fortune cookie, however I say if Alonso qualifies from 1-4, Ferrari will take the win, also, Webber is stronger in Silverstone, so don't count the Aussie out.

DRS zone 1 was overkill last year...cars were simply flying past. Couldn't they have at least shortened it to make it some sort of challenge for the pursuer.

I mean having the detection zones at least one corner away from the actual straight does encourage the drivers to attempt an overtake mid corner rather than just sitting behind and waiting for DRS.

Maybe, but I'm not so sure, guess we'll have to see. Although I don't have that much of a problem with DRS anyway.

I won't be at Silverstone at all for the first time in several years. Recent visits have all been at the expense of someone else with hospitality and car parking thrown in. It hasn't come together this year, either because the hospitality hasn't been directed as liberally as before towards Silverstone or I didn't generate the right energy.

Edit: just thought I'd share that thought

The iffy conditions of FP1 really shifted the order around a bit, but the end was relatively dry and therefore the times nearer the end of FP2 are a bit more accurate to what the race might be like, which is good as Paul Di Resta was 4th.

Bottas was looking good in the wet in FP1 though, he seems quite at home in the rain.
