How would they be able to prove it? now that this possible breach is out in the open, Red Bull wouldn't be stupid enough to use it again as they know the scrutineers will be looking out for it!

The moment I read "Italian media reports" I start to l question it's validity, they've got a history of saying less than savoury things about Ferrari's opponents.

If the tyres are flat spotted would it not cause a similar effect? The tyres would spin up over the "spot"

Yes but not equally on both sides. I doubt this Traction Control allegation because we'd be seeing these kind of marks everywhere after a weekend, but this was an isolated incident, he was off line, in a dirty area of the track that no one ever drives on, just had a small shunt with a Caterham and is at Canada, a renoundly bumpy track, I seriously doubt that part of the track Webber is on is perfectly flat.

If they are using TC, isn't that the sort of thing that WOULDN'T happen? The tread marks left are because of wheel spin...if the spin is controlled why would it leave tread marks. Those look like perfectly normal wheel spin marks to me and as Jabber said, a slight flat spot on both rears (locking the rears under braking for instance) contributes to those gaps. "Italian media"... can't beat the opposition on track, so try and knock em elsewhere.

Iirc from the TC era Isn't a certain amount of wheel spin optimal.

Since there's now a thread all of its own for this, I'll go back to the Pirelli/ Merecedes tribunal.
I found this.

Interesting that a number if teams have complained about lack of leadership from Todt. I always thought Ari Vattan ( sorry can't remember his name properly,he used to rally) would be the better person. But the arse whipper wanted Todt so that's what we got.

Ari Vatanen.

Jean Todt played Spanker Mosley at his own game and won and then promptly gave him the cold shoulder! Ari Vatanen tried to get Mosley to back his bid but Mosley only had eyes for Todt. Mosley should have really just kept out of the FiA elections but he just couldn't help himself from meddling.

I think Jean Todt has done a good job, especially considering what preceded him. Whilst some of the changes that have been brought in to try and improve teh racing are not turning out to be all that great, at least he's having a go and trying to give the smaller teams a fair shout and there is certainly less sleaze under Todt. Mosley only had eyes for whichever team was leading. But best of all, he's led quietly unlike Mosley. I think this report was written by Mosley or one of his pals, but hey, it is the Gaurdian.

I'd say Todt is much better than Mosely....how could you not be! But I still think Ari would have been a breath of fresh air .
Thanks for the surname Andrew

Wolf and Lauda not going to Paris. Ar they distancing themselves? So that if if the outcome is bad Brawn has to take the wrap??

Maybe they are just so confident in winning, they don't think it's worth 3 air fares, when 1 will do......

In a case like this I think it's more about support than confidence. Why leave Brawn to take the heat on his own? This kind of stuff overlaps very much into Wolff's role so it's a surprise he's doing a Houdini in this event.

IF the outcome is very bad and Brawn gets affected aka no longer team boss, I'd personally lose a lot of respect for this team.

Me too Hammer. I like Wolf so far, but we'll see what happens.
