^ Cool so why mention it? Because it's all they've got, which just makes it look sad. Anyway...let's go back to McLaren, they still have some hope left I think.

Useless comments?!?!... it's a statement of fact, Jenson Button is the most recent British world champion. Regardless of your opinion of Button, it's still a valid statement. If you call Button's world title a joke, then Vettel's second world title was an even bigger joke as he had no competition all season long, the Red Bull was so dominant in 2011 that even the 'cucumber' could win a title! Hammer, you bring out the same 'argument' (I use the term loosely) at every opportunity, one of the reasons I quit as mod because of the same bulls**t circular rhetoric that comes from certain members, in my view, this is no better than a troll searching for a reaction!

By Button, the most recent British F1 world champion

Also the most recent British F1 joke...the way his teammate is driving around him on the race track.

Got anything useful to say Hammer? instead of the circular commentary about Button... will someone please kick the record player, it seems to have gotten stuck!

Hey useless comments deserve useless replies. Who cares who was the most recent British Champion....Vettel is the most recent German champion, so he's better than Schumacher was? It's just sad how the desperate Button fans are grasping at straws "most recent Brit champ", "more points over 3 years" I mean come on.

The analogy isn't the same, as Schumacher has 7, Vettel has 3 (probably to become 4), Jenson has 1, Hamilton has 1.

So using F1 maths, Button and Hamilton as equally good (or bad depending on you're stance)? Vettel is 3 times better than Button and Hamilton, Schumacher is 7 times better than Button and Hamilton and is 2.3333333 times better than Vettel? :hehe:

Oh, if only it were that simple! :hehe:

Joke, no flaming needed.

Ok cool...chill out dude, Button is the bomb, King of Kings, Ace of Britain, Britains Only Hope, Brits Boy Wonder. This is the McLaren thread though.

I didn't say that made them better, I just applied the logic previously used in a consistent manner, to prove the analogies weren't a fair comparison. :whip:

Guess we need to set up a sliding scale, and work out the disributions, so it'd go Kimi - Hamilton- Button due to time, then Alonso, then Vettel then Schumacher, but the gaps with Button - Alonso, Alonso - Vettel and Vettel to Schumacher will need to factor in the relative ages of their championships too.

I don't care whether you like Button or not, you have a right to an opinion but reposting 'Button is a joke' comments over and over is annoying, regardless of my allegiance to a driver or not.

/for the record I am perfectly calm, I can express an opinion without getting angry about it!

A professor of mathematics sent a fax to his wife.

Dear Wife, You must realize that you are 54 years old, and I have certain needs that you are no longer able to satisfy. I am otherwise happy with you as a wife and sincerely hope that you will not be hurt or offended to learn that by the time you receive this fax, I will be at the Grand Hotel with my 18-year-old teaching assistant. I'll be home before midnight. Your Husband.

When he arrived at the hotel, there was a faxed letter waiting for him that read as follows:

Dear Husband, You too are 54 years old, and by the time you receive this letter, I will be at the Breakwater Hotel with the 18-year-old pool boy. Since you are the mathematician, you will appreciate the fact that 18 goes into 54 more times than 54 goes into 18. Therefore, don't wait up.

2008 was a joke with Glock being the punchline. And look where it got him! :whip:

What gets me the most about Button supporters who choose to get hurt by constant criticisms when they should instead understand that public forums in areas where freedom of speech is allowed is no different from Speakers corner in Hyde Park, London.

i.e apart from a few unfortunates with no life who hang around trying to make it a substitute for having a private social group, forums (and soapboxes) that are public are all about learning to tolerate others who do not share your own ideals (like your private friends)

Indeed in public is where people with private social groups come to express feelings looking for kindred spirits who agree. By definition most of these opinions will be negative or 'venting' about things. Look at the old Roman system, Senators didn't turn up having traveled, to say 'things are all good, Im happy with the world, I love my wife and my constituents love the taxes they pay.

So if this is a private group of friends then we can all watch out for each others feelings and blow roses around. If this is a public forum we can all hear things we wouldn't otherwise and choose to ignore them or to engage.

Now going back to Button, most of his supporters did not speak up in 2007 and since (although a bit better now) when Lewis was getting slaughtered and ripped into every day on every forum. The JB fans didnt speak up about the site called ihatelewishamilton.com, they said nada about the rasicm and hatred poured on his own family, some of them probably tutted when Alonso fans in Spain were blacking up.

And about Lewis when he first appeared the natural reaction was suspicion that he was some affirmative action experience or lucky chancer, after the first corner of his first GP when he took on Alonso he became the favourite for a lot of true fans of sports and the old Corinthian values, except for the bigots. And history tells us that wherever there are bigots there will be opposition from fair minded people. And thats when you get civil wars that end up with the winners defending the victims of bigotry and the whole nation becomes more civilised

And over the years Button languished and disappointed and was a worse all round example of an F! driver than Lewis he didn't have many fans who were sensitive about criticism, most didn't give a ***, because he was largely ignored by the media.

And now when he gets lucky and an obviously false media image and standard about him complete with short history has been created he has many fans again. Fair enough, however when he saunters into McLaren and sets about ruining it as lots of us have been pointing out for years, causes Lewis to leave in disgust and leaves the team a laughing stock, then why should he not be critiscised, each and everytime he says or does one of his repertoire of sneaky, lazy, useless routines?

Objective McLaren followers have seen this decline coming and have spoken out, called conspiracy fantasists etc etc, the fact that things are panning out EXACTLY as we said doesn't mean we are now experts on what will happen in the future

but it does mean that we know about button, and his history and his selfishness and his ratlike smarmy mercenary ways. Whitmarsh fell for it and McLaren are the only ones who can fix this.

/rant over (Hyde park corner is too cold so thank you for reading) you don't have to agree you can challenge it or ignore it, makes no difference to me, I've said my piece and feel better

Let's be very clear here, I am happy to hear everyone's opinion and I can accept other's views, but when that opinion is repeated time and time again as a stock response, that is my issue, as I said everyone has a right to an opinion, but we, the forum populous don't need to be hit over the head with it on a daily basis, state your view and move on instead of repeating yourself like a broken record. It reminds me to religious fanatics who are on a mission to convert everyone they come into contact with, stating your opinion multiple times does not make it any more valid!
