Lotus is Renault.

"The team competed under the Lotus name for the first time in the 2012 Formula One season, following the renaming of the former Renault team"

Lotus were Renault, then Renault quit and sold to Genii. However they were called Renault for another season for purely admin reasons. In fact if genii had changed engine that year to say Merc then they would have been called Renault Mercedes.

Renault left after getting shafted by Alonso/Piquet crashgate and became only an engine supplier, Genii then aquired the Lotus name. Its not even a Renault works team

I still think of them as Benneton, thats where the roots of their current standing lies I reckon

The Renualt Mercedes team would have been a great name

Why? They've done it before but it would more likely be Audi or VW badges on the engines.

That's as good as Mercedes-BMW.

Personally if Lambo ever entered F1 under their own name....man I'd root for them. Ferrari's worst nightmare on track, IRRESISTIBLE recipe for an anti-Ferrari fan, yours truly.

It wouldn't be very aerodynamic then would it? Lambo have been in F1 in the past but there were no horns on those cars.

Their livery itself would win me over...yellow and black, my favourite combination.

Imagine what the car would look like with JUST these colours:




....hmm, the Lotus actually comes to mind. Ah well.

yeah... but lotus's black is not the same texture as the lambo one. if the material looked like this...
