He had 1:49 minutes to get across the line, that was possible by the speeds the other cars speed getting there.
#362101
The team sent him out in time, it was button not driving fast enough for what ever reason that meant he saw the flag.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of the BBC pundits blaming it on McLaren. It really wasn't their fault. He was NOT sent out at the very back.

Funny, Sky was also berating McLaren and their terrible strategy.
#362102
Sending him out last gavee him the factor of everyone else picking up the water drying it out for him and he had time to get across the line.
#362107
Except they did not send him out last...he was overtaken by a few cars on the way to the line and took his own sweet time until time ran out.
#362108
Yup he was trying to be clever, probably using his genius for changeable conditions and trying to be the absolute last one to cross the line and gain a genius advantage on everyone else mindlessly rushing on ahead and improving the track for him.

So he then claims the car wasnt fast enough anyway to make Q3, nevermind, not bothered!

except young Sergio claimed he had the speed to make Q3 and was merely disadvantaged by Massas red flag.

Real motivational team leader stuff JB!
#362109
His car wasn't fast enough is the worst excuse, even if it was true he would still have made and effort.
#362110
Thats JB all over. Unless the car and conditions are perfect, he is too lazy to be bothered

Which is fair enough sat at a back of grid team but a criminal disgrace at Mclaren, lucky Sergio is around or we would all believe the car was really that bad

Bottas qualies 3rd, i.e. this was the quali session that slower cars could do well in changeable conditions. If Mac cant get anything out of their strongest circuit might as well write this season off and let Sergio loose - that is a glorious sight
#362114
Button even with his genius strategy did pretty well actually...but still where he belongs: behind his teammate.
#362128
The only thing Button did all race was to get blue flagged for holding up Lewis. Typical spiteful stuff, lucky he didnt get a drive thru like scarface
#362131
How is being lapped spiteful? I thought it was a result of being slow unless you are suggesting that Button was slow on purpose just so he could hold up Hamilton (what?).

Macca must surely be a rock bottom now. It realy can't get much worse for them can it?

You only get blue flagged if you dont move out the way quick enough

Dont worry about McLaren, its only a temporary blip, they have a massive history, they are best at out developing the rest thru the season, they have a WDC leading the team

rock bottom is just a phase, every top team does that dont they?

Button is convinced
Button, though, is confident Montreal was just a one-off blip in the team's record.

"We finished outside the points and we have a lot of work to do," said the Brit.

"We've got to get our act together and improve.

They won't stay this low. Over 2 years of consistent points finishes came to an end today though :(

:hehe: The guy is like a cancer. Won't stop till McLaren becomes another solid midfield runner which has lost all hope, or possibly bankrupt...like BAR, Benetton, Honda....and when did a team principal NOT bother to fight for a Champion? Brawn didn't give a sh*t when Button got interest from McLaren. :hehe:

You honestly think that will happen?
