Hammer surely you dont expect him to work round the clock with his engineers? he'd be sleeping in the race car! actually he does do that, between quali sessions

I just think he's putting himself in a place with too many distractions. I mean he's got his girlfriend, dog, that weird hairstyle , not to mention all the PR stuff Merc has lined up every race weekend. It has an impact.

Anything that he might be doing while not on track is things he could be doing throughout the rest of the time away from race events, I doubt he's just lounging around/walking dog whatever then just getting in the car now and again for merc. and no point burning youself out in the lead up to a race by not taking any time to relax.

Why do we have to look for excuses and reasons? he hasnt got the best out of this car yet and Rosberg has. Lewis has work to do. But I doubt very much his braking issue is because he takes his dog for a walk.

It's been 6 races, he's not got used to the brakes....but when he entered F1 the first time, it didn't take him long to understand how an F1 car works and start matching a double World Champion almost immediately.

True...Nico's using the same tyres though. Tyres are also different this year than they were last year. Don't get me wrong you two, I think Lewis is doing a good job so far but it's not his best. There's room for improvement and I think he's the one allowing for that room. He said it himself!

Different drivers depend on different feedback from the car, look at Grosjean and Raikkonen at the begining of 2012, the problem was that Kimi couldn't get the feedback through the steering he needed but that didn't affect Grosjean. The issues of changing to different brakes has affected other drivers too, didn't Button change back to Brembos at some point after he moved to McLaren?

LEWIS HAMILTON has been urged to leave the dog at home and focus on getting his own Formula One bark back

Having finally been let off the McLaren leash, there are fears the British driver is being given too much freedom by Mercedes to the detriment of his results.

Hamilton was signed to spearhead the German car giant’s surge up the grid but is being overshadowed by team-mate Nico Rosberg who was expected to be his lapdog.

The build-up to last weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix was dominated by pictures of Hamilton strolling around the yacht-lined paddock with bulldog Roscoe – but it was Rosberg who took another big bite out of his rival’s reputation.

Now it is time for someone at Mercedes to take 28-year-old Hamilton in hand, says John Watson, a five-time winner during the 1970s and early 80s – an era when drivers knew the next race could be their last.

“There is no place for a dog in the F1 paddock,” insistsWatson, now a highly respected pundit. “For one thing, it is not fair on the animal. It might be in luxurious surroundings, but an engine firing up is like a firecracker or bomb going off for a dog. It’s not right.

“It just shows that Mercedes are bending over too far to please Lewis. There is absolutely no way McLaren would have allowed it. Lewis wanted more freedom from McLaren and he has got that, but it can go too far the other way.

“Lewis has to decide if he wants to be an F1 driver or a hip-hop star. At the end of the day, you have got to respect the job that you are doing.

“He went to Mercedes with the reputation of being the man who would get the job done. Niki Lauda took the credit for getting him in there.

“Niki is a experienced former driver who won three world titles. You don’t do that just being quite nice and he should be there trying to help Lewis work his way through the problems and point out what Mercedes expect from him.

“If your life was on the line and it was all down to one lap, you would back Lewis over Nico every time. But it is just not happening for him at the minute and he needs to start working out why.”

When Alonso was beaten in quali by Massa a few weekends in a row there was silence from the same 'experts'. Anyway this year is supposed to be a transition for the team (and Lewis), they were not expected to win the title and Lewis, after a tyre test most likely driven mostly by Nico is narrowly beaten in the first sector in Q3 which then determined Quali and the race

When Kimi had his steering issues and was beaten by Crasjean in quali no witch hunt and he is still regarded as highly as ever but when it comes to Lewis, how dare he alone have outscored the whole of the McLaren team, not good enough!

Do you mind not being a little sh*t for no reason? I treat you with respect in my posts, it will be cool if you give me the same respect even if we disagree on some matters. Learn from how RC and WB disagreed with me, its not so difficult.
