He impressed from when he first stepped in the Williams. The speed and ability has always been there but the machinery hasn't always been great. Shame about his music career though.

yep forgot his rookie year, for a tiny excuse could be given that he war really young that time. Came to F1 year before Hamilton and Rosberg is younger than him by a few months.

But Alonso when did he lose to a team mate? or are we talking about the 2007 even points with Hamilton?

He lost against Tarso Marques in the Minardi 2001.

0-0 in points, but admittedly that was the old point system when half of the small teams ended up with 0 points. and that Marques guy got 2 9th positions against Alonsos one 10th, so he would have lost. (Yes, I didn't remember that but checked now). But still why why did Minardi replace the leading driver with Alex Yoong? very difficult to understand, Alonso was hardly that time yet a Santander's golden boy.

No...they were "even". The Alonso fans will cling on to the points table as hard as they can even though the points almost never give us the full picture.

* in this comparison I accept even points as a draw, in other words not lost. This however does not mean that I would like to ignore the fact that in the FIA standings Lewis Hamilton was higher than his team mate Alonso at the results of season.

From memory Yoong brought a lot of money with him.
