NICO ROSBERG PERFECTION.

What a race what a race, TAKE THAT Merc detractors!!!!!!!!!!!

If not for perennial-pain-in-the-a**e Massa, it would've been a perfect 1-2, but oh well. NEXT!

Wow, I was not expecting that! Nico Rosberg was able to comfortably leave Seb behind there, and was not once pressured for the lead. It seemed to be more RBR who were leading a train this time.

Great for Nico, although, as has been pointed out on television coverage, Lewis Hamilton made a costly mistake by dropping back WAYYY too much when the safety car came out. He was about 2 seconds behind, but created an 11 second gap for some reason. The team lost points through this, and as Lewis admitted, it was his faux pas.

Now then, have Merc turned a corner with the tyres? How will they hold up at Montreal, an entirely different circuit?

I wouldn't draw any conclusions from this race. As far as the track used, Monaco is a bit of an anomaly.

Yeah. If it was any other track, Mercedes would not even get a podium.

I think you'll find they've had a couple this year at other tracks.

I don't think the tyre test would of helped them here. How muxh will it help them in the future

The team struggling most with tyres is given a free tyre test. It'll help a lot.

Pirelli didn't want to go on trial for liable when Hamilton died from his tire delaminating at speed at Monza.

There's a worrying amount of past-tense in that sentence. :hehe:

In the end, that's the factor that cannot be regulated and that's what I've hear reported is the overriding clause in the contract Pirelli has and given Mercedes' woes and the fact that they've had rear tire delamination, it's understandable why they'd single out Mercedes for a test.

We'll find out what's what.

Understandable but not fair, they should do a test with ALL teams, that way everyone's net-even and you get more data.

I don't disagree, but I also don't run things, so no one gives a beep. :hehe:

It's F1 though, teams scream like stuck pigs whenever the feel anyone else is getting any perceived advantage. Floppy front wings anyone? The point is there's very little that has been said about what the actual test was. Toto Wolff mentioned it was blind, with Mercedes not knowing what tire was on the car. That there was benefit to be had, I'm sure they did benefit, but unless we have an understanding of the test procedure and how it was done, there's no way to claim as some have, that they're getting a massive advantage.

Data is what they got. They must have got something, or it would have been a waste of an opportunity.

I am not saying it will not help them, just that I do not think the tyre degradation for anyone at Monaco was an issue.

I am sure that as the team had a base line from the race that they would be able to take a good guess as to what tyres they where using. Also any mileage that is run on these tires will help the team to understand them more.
