I don't see Perez as part of the crash club. The move on Kimi was similar moves to Button and Alonso (which where good moves) it is just it went a little wrong with Kimi. People might say that button and alonso where a bit more switched on and saw him coming. Without seeing back to back footage it is hard to tell. I am sure if someone like Kobiashi pulled that move people would of loved it.

Agree with this completely. But Perez needs to understand he's the guy trying to make the overtake and has more responsibility in keeping it clean, how Lewis found out the hard way in 2011.

Personally I thought that Monaco was dull; 17 passes in 78 laps, that's one overtake very 4 1/2 laps, I'm so happy that I didn't get up early to watch the race live, if I found the highlights dull, the full race would have put me back to sleep, it was only the crashes that made this race bearable.

I disagree with the comments that the racing here was dull this time. We had as many passes as one can expect from a track the width of a needle, and there were many moments of action.

What were people expecting? Wheel-to-wheel racing through the Lowes hairpin? Three cars abreast through the tunnel?!?!

It's not Monza, guys...

I wish! But heck, it was better than anything the Indian track's thrown at us... For Monaco, it was a good race. I certainly wasn't expecting Rosberg to win that day!

It's not? Well blow me down with a feather... :P

On Perez, I believe he is a bit of a hothead on the track and can't see the difference between a valid overtaking chance and putting it in the gap and close his eyes kind of pass. In Monaco, this sort of driving is dangerous, overtaking is almost a joke in Monaco, if the defending driver puts his car in the middle of the track, the only way past is by scraping along the barrier.

All drivers make mistakes, even the older n experienced ones, lets give him a chance, up to now he is all I expected him to be... Great potential....If McL had their last year rocket, he may had win a GP (or two) by now.
#360541
Maybe if he had last years car he would be trying to get past Kimi. he does not though, so in kimi's eyes it is like him fighting for points and an annoying Mexican getting in his way.
Potencial he has but he needs to make another impression, that he is safe and consistent. That also makes a good driver. If he carries on he will turn out like Roman, with a massive hole in his head!

It was an ok race by Monaco standards but it was still pretty dull (which is the usual for monaco). It was more banger racing than F1 racing at times.

Singapore is usually better, when it comes to the current ACTUAL street-circuits.

Probably, if you like that sort of thing.

Five million Singaporeans like that sort of thing.

Singapore, Valencia don't qualify as street circuits for me....its just replacing tyre walls with those steel barriers. The circuit still has huge run off areas. Monaco is still the 1 true street circuit in my view, zero margin for error in 90% of the track. Super place to test drivers.

Felipe Massa crash at Monaco Grand Prix down to suspension failure

Ferrari driver Felipe Massa's crash at the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday was caused by suspension failure not driver error, the Italian team have revealed.

Massa, 32, had crashed in practice on Saturday and then had an identical shunt on lap 30 of the race.

The Brazilian was taken to Monaco's Princess Grace Hospital as a precaution but was soon released.

"The accident was caused by an element of the front-left suspension breaking," a Ferrari statement read.

Massa crashed during the race at Sainte Devote as he hit one barrier before sliding into the impact-absorbing barriers in the run-off area.

"The best news to come out of the Monaco weekend is that Felipe is fine," said Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali.

"Two big accidents, just over 24 hours apart, and all he has to show for it is a bit of muscle pain. Fortunately there were no other injuries."
