I am praying for a big crash at the start that makes KImi then Perez, then Button which seems unlikely but it could happen.

We need a bit of Maldonado or Grosjean for that I guess

I think Button might be angling to try to get into Red Bull/Ferrari (thinking that that would be his best chance to win in the future), what with his comments about maybe him not being there for the Honda years -- and with Paddy leaving, of course -- and also because of Sergio's unassailable position within the team. (Plus, his constant laying of the whole problem at McLaren's feet, and him taking none of the blame -- that I've seen.). So if Vettel and/or Webber left Red Bull, you can't tell me that Button wouldn't leave McLaren in a second if he got the chance....

So much for..' I'm going to end my carrier at Mclaren' if that's the case. Well he won't find his politicking will get him anywhere with Alonso as a team mate.

Button was sure unlucky yesterday. He had been running well all weekend and to lose power just before his final lap is a kick in the nuts.

But hopefully there is a glimpse of light for McLaren and they are turning the corner on their performance issues.

I hope so!

Nice to see JB has added another excuse to his Q3 excuse repertoire

It wasnt no grip on the money lap, or sudden mysterious missing balance, or change in wind direrction

Its was a mysterious lack of power!

Its called lifting off Jenson

And even before the race he is already rattled about his teammate - my boy Sergio

It's pretty clear that they're moving forward. Any clues on what caused the loss of power? Bit of a concern for the race.

It's been 5 races...and things aren't exactly going Lewis' way.

To be honest with you, Nico might just become my favourite driver...especially after seeing Lewis' new haircut and his dog all over my freakin timeline.

Such a glory hunter, I bet you support Man United as well!

Whoa whoa....glory hunter? Let's look at my track record for support....starts with DC (till he retired), Kimi (till he left F1), and now Lewis. The only time the driver I supported won a WDC was Kimi at FERRARI in 2007.

I'm more like the anti-glory hunter. :hehe:

And I always supported Nico against Schumacher, it was great seeing him beat up the old cheat over and over again......and now he's giving a tough time to Lewis. It's great! I want to see Lewis' response, and I'm sure he'll respond.

Do you really think either of those teams are idiot enough to take this guy on board? It was surprise enough that McLaren actually took him (maybe still from the highs of the joke WDC of 2009) but I think Redbull and Ferrari have other more interesting candidates who actually have some serious talent to offer.

dont do it Hamms, Nico is as fast as Lewis and Seb, but the Hamilton magic is a different kettle of fish. Mark my words, there is a reason Lewis is elevated above other mere star drivers like Seb and when he demonstrates that in a race soon you will feel guilty. Have more than 1 fav driver - but cant be demoting Lewis

It won't happen mate! Tongue-in-cheek comment that, I support a driver till he retires from the sport...but I am liking Nico very much as a baseline for Lewis, it's a Lewis on the edge I like to see on track!

Dear moderators; could we please rename this thread "The Button Basher's Club" and make it only visible to Lewis Hamilton fans?

I think many here spend more time bashing Button than actually showing support for their favourite driver.

Joke or a championship Hammer, seriously? Button won the title fair and square... Mansell's 1992 championship could be considered a joke championship as well as he had a car head and shoulders above anyone else bar his team mate, many of Schumacher's titles could be described as joke championships, Ferrari clearly had the best car by far for many of those titles. Then we come to the biggest joke, Sebastian Vettel's 2011 title, that car was so superior that he won the title with half dozen races remaining. And I ask you this; If Mercedes create a super-car next season and dominate like Red Bull did in 2011 and Lewis wins the title, will that be a joke championship as well?

If only. I think the way for an end user to circumvent the drone is either to put certain names on the ignore list, or to have McLaren make a fantastic car that will allow Button to win a championship thereby shutting his detractors.

I'm sure I heard fuel pump. I could be wrong.

So if someone wins in the best car, it's a "joke" cahmpionship? Seriously?

I presume that is what Hammer is getting at...

So who had the best car in 2008?

Button was sure unlucky yesterday. He had been running well all weekend and to lose power just before his final lap is a kick in the nuts.

I gather Button designed the fuel pump. It's all his fault! :hehe:

At least that's something that should be a straight-forward fix.
