Massa was very unconvincing in his interview about it being "driver error". He said it was quite difficult to lock just the front wheels. It is a bit of an odd crash, especially for an experienced driver. Apparently, the engine was still revving going into the corner and Gary Anderson has suggested a stuck throttle. Seems plausible especially after seeing Massa trying (and failing) to convince the world it was his fault.

Why would Massa say it was hist fault when it wasn't?

You tell me. Why was he so unconvincing in his interview?

maybe he was just embarrassed? Maybe he didn't give a damn about the interview?

Doesn't add up. Can you explain why only Massa's front wheels were locked and not his rears and why his engine was still revving when it shouldn't have been going into anti-stall? Watch teh on-board footage.

Not really, but none of that means it can't have been driver error.

Odd seeing as Vettel has (for reasons that'll never be fully understood) Stirling Moss on his helmet. Surely it should be Moss's image that's covered, not Hunts?!

Agreed!

It was something to do with the FOM's lawyers thinking that it contravenes FOM regulations with regards to unauthorised advertising/messages which are visible by the onboard camera. However, MrE has stepped in and told his lawyers to belt up and boil their heads and has given Raikkonen permission to use his James Hunt hat.

We saw it today and will see it tomorrow.

I think Vettel has had to change his hat but that's for different reasons that will be pretty obvious in this pseudo-politically correct age in which we live.

Mercedes did 3-day tyre test between the Spanish and Monaco Grands Prix. Testing is banned. Seems there is a document that allows tyre tests

The issue isn't the test. It's the way in which it was conducted. I'd have thought that something like this would have needed the apporval of all teams.

If the tyres are not being changed until the Canadian GP, there surely isn't (if any) real benefit to Pirelli for this race. If anything it'll help Mercedes more. Problem for Merc now is if they win in Monaco it'll be clouded by this secret test.

Hey, Pirelli asked for help to work out each others' issues and Merc complied, end of story. :D

Try telling that to Christian Horner, and see what the response is :P
