Its going to be Lewis. He has more experience on this track.

Nico has out qualified Lewis in the last 2 races

With ease.

Lewis said he wasn't able to get the car set up right in Barcelona. Still it was a Merc front row lockout. Which shows how fast the car is over a single lap. Steve Machett spotted it last race, that they resorted to almost having positive camber in the rear of his car just to get the tires to last a bit more and still it didn't help.

It's going to be an interesting race.

If there's a race Merc can win his year it's Monaco.

I'd still think Alonso or Kimi depending on what strAtegy works best is favorite but with a pole here and some cooperation Mercs could take the win. Best of luck to them and we shall see if theres overtaking even in Monaco this year.

Don't forget schumacher got pole position as far as lap time goes, the penalty however dropped him back to 6th was it? Either way, if the mgp w03 last year could do it, the w04 definitely can this year.

What happened to Schumacher in the race anyway? I know Rosberg ended up 2nd, but where did he qualify?

Rosberg actually qualified second, so was duly only usurped by eventual winner Mark Webber. Michael Schumacher pulled out of the race with fuel pressure problems.

So last year, it was an all-Merc front row, albeit for Schumacher's grid-penalty.

Pole is there for the Mercs, and whilst they are suffering from the tires they are focused on the race - good for them.

Ferrari will be very solid and will have to hope to be as close to the Mercs as possible in Q and then rely on getting enough extra out of their tires to get the cut on any Mercs that may be ahead on them on the track.

Red Bull still have a super fast car, but they seem to be focused on the tires that perhaps they are losing focus on the business at hand - racing.

Lotus will be fully dialed up this race but may have trouble in Q given how gentle they are on their tires.

McLaren - at some stage things are going to start to click for them - Monaco may well mask some of their deficiencies and put them on a more even footing. The team needs to take a page out of Ferrari's book of 2012 - focus on getting max points and be there to take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself during the race.

Red bull as usual acting like they are in trouble, but why is Kimi so low in the time sheets. I hope he gets up there, or we have another Alonso victory on the cards this weekend.

If Grosjean is less than 2 tenths off the pace, Kimi is in with a chance for the win.

As a Merc fan, it sucks not having any reason to be happy on a Friday, or Saturday anymore. :hehe:

Stefano Domenicali stirring the tire pot during practice 2. When asked about tire stops SD said they were evaluating whether to do a 1-stop race :D
