Well, that race was well worth getting up for, I just woke up for the second time hehe. Lewis just dominated, hopefully he can take that through to Malaysia and really start building a lead in the Drivers Champ. Glad to see Ferrari screwing up. The driver I felt most sorry for was Bourdais. What a drive for a debut in a Toro Rosso! But all in all it was a really good race, def. the best I've seen at Albert Park, plenty of overtaking and a ridiculous number of DNFs. I'd forgotten how much I miss F1, but this has whetted the appetite again. Bring on Malaysia!

You are glad Ferrari stuffed up hey? Well I will be glad when Lewis Hamilton and McLaren stuff up as well like they did last season and I will be furher happy when McLaren becomes Mercedes and no more Ron Dennis. Whichever way you have it F1 is all about Ferrari and in the end we will prevail and not your "kid yourself hero" Lewis Hamilton. Have a nice day. :)

I support the Brits in F1, not McLaren. As far as Lewis Hamilton goes, I dunno about you, but I wouldn't call having the best debut season in F1 history a 'stuff up.' You're closed minded if you think 'F1 is all about Ferrari.' They won the championship last season because McLaren was disqualified, so how you can assume that Ferrari are gonna win the championship with ease is beyond me. And thanks, I will have a nice day, because today it's an overall 10 points for the Brits and an overall...1 point for Ferrari which they only gained because of so many DNFs. Congratulations

Goooooooooood, Dobro, Bravo............ so you want to bring nationality into this now do you? Doing that with me is a big no no pal. Now you have really fired me up. Well I go for Ferrari because it is Italian. I have nothing against the Brits in anyway and if Williams were to be champions then great. I do not like McLaren because it is McLaren and only that, but if you want to get nationality involved then FORZA everything ITALIAN, including the England national football side who has an Italian coach. Hah now how do you feel about that one now SIR JUGGLES *LOL*.

I'm pretty sure you just responded to something that wasn't even there. ;)

This topic is getting ridiculous. McLaren hate, Ferrari hate...it's just pointless. And making you all look rather silly, too, just so you know...

I've just read the ITV site and apparently Ferrari are citing engine problems as the reason for both the retirements of their cars, so that can't be good for them.

Passion makes that respect thing hard. Sorry I just cannot help myself even if I do not mean it. I guess that is why football is the way it is as well.

A lot of the reason that football is the way it is is that people have this idea that they must be right and that their team is the best. Not because of passion, but because they feel it's all part of being tough and whatnot. There are many passionate football fans, but there are also many idiots. It is the idiots that spoil the sport. And that's fans AND players, I might add.

Oh well a lot of those football hooligans belong to the Liverpool FC (ie Heysel 1985) but hey this isn't the right place to dicuss that anyway so lets drop the football topic. However back to the case of todays DISMAL Race, McLaren and Hamilton may of won the battle, but they most certainily will not win the war. If anything, if it does come close Ferrari will prevail because (and I say it without the slightest care factor) the FIA, Max Mosely and co will intervene. :D

Well it is called rivalry. It is what makes F1 fun. Just like in all other sports I guess.

First of all, hello to everybody and sorry for my English.

On the one hand Hamilton is one of the bests, and probably he is better than Raikkonen, but in my opinion the Ferrari driver is more spectacular, and risks more than Lewis. Although Hamilton is more efficient.

On the other hand Lewis has done a fantastic race. He has driven without complication, and he had an easy performance.

But in my point of view, the best F1 driver who exists nowadays is Fernando Alonso, in spite of driving a Renault car, which isn't very good.

...? Dunno how you managed to bring nationality into this? I was saying that I support the Brits in F1, not a particular team...how is that an attack on your nationality? I also don't care if you don't like McLaren, I just think you're wrong to say that 'F1 is all about Ferrari,' when clearly based on today, it's not.

Hat's off to Lewis as he was the dominate driver/car combo and his win was well deserved. Kimi made a mess of his race and made imho stupid decision's/error's that led to his two off's. He most likely would have finished in 3rd or maybe even 2nd if he would have kept a clear head as his fuel strategy was spot on, well imo.

McLaren had the dominate car this race and deserved the win.

He had no reason to take the risk that he did when it came to overtaking Kovy. Third place would have been a much better points haul than none at all. I think we're seeing a min-reversal of last year, where Kimi would normally think tactically and take points where he could get them rather than potentially wiping out his car. Hopefully, he'll have himself under control in Malaysia and, hopefully, he'll win there as well, with Rosberg and/or Heidfeld showing similar strong performances to those we saw today. I know it probably won't happen, but I'd love it if at least three constructors could fight for the WCC this year. If it was Ferrari, McLaren, BMW and Williams, wouldn't that make things exciting?!

This topic is little more than a pretentious waste of time and I dispute the OP's assertion that LH somehow schooled KR on how to drive with no TC when

A) They never fought
B) LH was out in front with no overtaking to do, KR had much.

Way to ingratiate Lewis to people. It's stuff like this that breeds contempt for him you know. It's why so many disliked MS and why some decided to dislike FA (That and the fight)

Yawn, just watched it for the second time and I'm knackered. Brilliant driving by Lewis, a great performance by Mclaren, and some daft mistakes by the Ferrari drivers.

Sounds like there's some sore losers on here. Get a life AKR!

He is nothing more than a lucky bar steward! I can assure you this is all but futile as at the end of the season Ferrari will be champions again whether done on the track of through the FIA's help. Glad I didnt go to race day anyway. Too hot and I would of probably fainted in the stupid 40 degree heat. Too hot in stupid Melbourne. Its been over 30 all week and it isn't even going too cool down in a hurry! I almost died in 32 degree heat yesterday at the track when watching the qualifying!

Well, Ferrari does have potential, but it remains to be seen if they'll manage to take full advantage of that potential soon enough. They obviously haven't in this race – there’s a great quote on F1-Live that measures Ferrari in one sentence: “Bad driving, bad reliability, bad strategy”.

Once they reach their potential, they’ll be more than competitive… but dominant? I’m not sure. I mean, Massa had OK qualifying and still didn’t manage to top the chart. And it’s not that Massa is much slower than Kimi.

What sucks with this pointing system is that it is so inert – if team has 2 DNF (or end up with low points), he’ll spend rest of the season catching up – even if they’re winning.

That being said… congrats to LH, but I didn’t enjoy his race. Not because I don’t really fancy him, but from my point of view his race was boooooring. I did enjoy much more what was happening to other finishers, even if some of them did have bad luck along the way.

MacLaren were the better team today, they deserved to win.

Last year's politricks could have been good for them, helped to galvinise everyone.

Lewis Hamilton is too cheesy, hope he doesn't win many more...

We need a genious villain in F1 again, Schumacher was the perfect D!ck Dastardly, it's boring without him...

Kimi didn't get schooled by anyone, he made bonehead mistakes all by himself. The way he tried to take Kovi in turn 3 was spectacular and ballsy but it was stupid. A WC should know that you can't brake that late and stay on the track. Then instead of learning from that off he went and spun it in the same turn after taking too much speed into the corner and putting tires on the grass. Lewis on the other hand drove as though he were a seasoned vet all race long, never putting a wheel wrong that I could see. Kimi needs to settle down and Lewis needs to keep doing what he has been.
