It is an interesting notion. I can not say I have ever thought about the pit car transmission being chosen like that

I like the pit radio we get to hear, I'm always straining to hear It, especially when abroad and not understanding all the commentary. But I wouldn't want to hear all of it. Most if it will be boring instructions and you couldn't listen to the whole lot from every car and the race commentary as well. It stands to reason the most interesting snippets will be broadcast.
As some of the comments after that article state, the drivers know the score. Jenson is a master craftsman at manipulating the media to his advantage, he knows what he says will likely be broadcast. What Jenson doesn't like is the reaction to his comments. It wasn't the reaction he wanted, he misjudged his use of the media this time.

Without going down the Button route. Did anyone else think that Sato and Fisi lost out on radio war?

I have wondered about that a bit before, particularly since there is a delay before it's put onto the feed, but never thought about how it could be used by FOM like that.

As is evident from some discussion on here, the radio messages can influence peoples views on particular drivers or events quite a bit so is it right for FOM to be using cherry picked radio messages slipped into the feed where they decide, and not always with the intention of being informative but to increase the tension and drama.

There's been quite a few times when something's happened during a race and a radio message has been played which has fitted with the action at that time, after the race the driver or team boss will be interviewed and shown the clip, they'll comment that the message was from earlier, so it would appear to be FOM's game.

I thought the Fisi ones were funny, maybe it was the terminology used to spur him on, but all the drivers get it, especially when a fast In Lap is needed. I've heard meassage to step on it go out to Lewis and Shumacher amongst others, not drivers generally known for hanging around.

Lets not forget these messages aren't made up to entertain us, they're real, even if we only get to see a fraction of them.

The messages are real but the context we hear them in isn't. FOM is manipulating them to entertain us and to give us something to discuss after the race.

Maybe. But since they can't play them all they have the choice to play the juicy ones or the boring ones. It's an easy choice.

What if it was just a boring or reasonable message at the time that no one would've thought anything of in it's proper context but played later at a time other action is taking place giving the message a different meaning to the audience in order to spice things up.

With the timing of some of the messages being played, and then either commentary pointing ot it's an earlier message or drivers/bosses pointing that out post race I think that's quite possible.

Every country gets the FOM feed, maybe the people employed to monitor the radios and see where they can fit the messages in are multi lingual.

The one good thing about radio messages is that it does manage (if just for a few seconds) to shut up abysmal commentators.

Be truly sad if we didnt get to here Kimi's radio . Montoyas was brilliant too. I like Lewis' ( probably I listen out more for his ) it's generally very businesslike...'.where am I loosing time', ......'where is he faster than me' ........and sometimes...... ' I'm goin as fast as I can man!'

My favorite ones are the... "okay (insert driver's name here) we need you to push hard, but conserve (insert, fuel, brakes, tires comment here)
