I think the team members all put a Blackberry sticker on the back of their iPhone 5 and hope no one notices.

Looking at Button trying to fight the car into the corner,it is like it doesn't want to stir. Lies are over, we should not fool ourselfs, the car is total crap... :irked: , whatever the updates of Spain will be, there is no way for the championship... I was wondering if it had some potential after all, but the mp4-28 is the farse of the century, I will be happy if we ever finish on podium this year... :censored:

I don't think it's fair to make judgement during the initial fly away races, especially considering how radical they went from last years car.

Ferrari were in a similar situation last year but never received as much critism as McLaren has.

Well this is Buttons chance to prove to the team he's worth a damn. A team in dilemma and lost in terms of how to move forward, Button, Mr Experience will be the perfect guy to guide them out of the woods and back to the front end. So we should see how it goes this year. We saw how it went in 2009 and how they got out of the woods. Same case back in 2004, DC's heroic Monaco victory. :cloud9:

Personally if I was Whitmarsh right now and looking at my staff now I'd be crying in a dark corner of an abandoned room lol

So Button the most recent British F1 driver is useless lol. Lets face it you best buddy who probably does not even care if you exist or not soent his whole career in top teams has managed only one world championship! In that time another driver has turned up an won 3 back to back championships... your best buddy must be the best in the world!!!!

 Take it easy Jabber. Lewis does know I exist though, he replied to a couple of my tweets before. :hehe::hehe:

On a serious note, I don't care about his lifestyle or whatever....I think he's the best talent out there and his driving entertains me. It fills up a couple of units in my day! As for Button, I've already put my thoughts across so there's no more to say :P

But I think bud is referring to the pace of the Ferrari. That win was under pressure from a faster Sauber car, in very wet conditions, when faster cars had gambled incorrectly / fallen away. Had it been dry in Sepang, that win would almost certainly not have been possible.

That Ferrari was never a dog...it was definitely a Top 10 car by the 2nd or 3rd race. Alonso was the one barking the whole time about how the car is a backmarker machine...the car was actually one of the best in wet conditions.

McLaren are currently in a more difficult situation, since its a car which is suffering from lack of traction and not handling bumps well. But the acid test will be the three week break after Bahrain, I expect them to make a big step...if they're still celebrating for getting into Q3 in Barcelona, game over.

You make a good point Jab. Lewis and Mclaren as a team massively underperformed. A driver of his calibre should be up there on the scoring board alongside Alonso and vettel. He had a chance last year to get on terms with Alonso but Mclaren squandered it with unreliability, operational cockups and spending too long mid season sorting out Button.
Im sure Lewis is aware that his talent and championship tally is out of kilter and he felt he'd given Mclaren his best shot and it was time for a change.Sad it panned out like that really.

At least we have some race pace which reminds us of last years ferrari... Imo the key for that is the good rear tyre management, and surely Metallica's visit in the Mcl pits had to do something as well... :rimshot:

Button must indeed be a lot better than we all thought

at coaching and mentoring young Sergio, to the extent of building his confidence as he did today
