But normally a bomb like this, every group under the sun jumps up and claims it was them, this time no one.

Exactly which strike me as being rather odd.

When you consider the lengths the US went to after the last terrorist attack it's maybe not so odd that groups other than those responsible aren't claiming responsibility, I won't be too surprised if this turns out to be domestic but we'll have to wait and see.

A suspect has been identified in the Boston Marathon bombing, an unidentified law enforcement source tells CNN.

The station reported that officials believe a video from a department store and a TV station helped identify the suspect.

UPDATE: The Associated Press and CNN report that an arrest has been made. The yet unidentified suspect is reportedly expected in federal court soon.

The Boston Globe is reporting that authorities have an image of the suspect carrying and possibly dropping a black bag at the second bombing scene.

Reports that a suspect has been detained over Monday's Boston marathon bombings have been denied by US officials.

The Associated Press and CNN cited law enforcement officials as saying someone was in custody, but police and the FBI in Boston denied the reports.

Earlier, officials reportedly said a suspect had been identified from security video by the race finish line.

The FBI has postponed a Wednesday evening press conference.

Police and journalists arrived at a courthouse in Boston amid confusion over whether a suspect had been held in connection with the attacks, which killed three people and left more than 170 injured.

"Contrary to widespread reporting, there have been no arrests made in connection with the Boston marathon attack," the FBI said in a statement.

"Over the past day and a half, there have been a number of press reports based on information from unofficial sources that has been inaccurate."
